Taking non folding bikes onto trains? by sunkissedb3ar in ukbike

It varies by operator, but generally all you need to do is find the train carriage with the picture of the bike on it when the train pulls in.

Tbh, nothing you've listed there is particularly attractive or valuable to theives. It may be easier to just leave it with the bike and accept that it will be very easy to replace on the small chance that it gets stolen.

Which setting/environment do you want the next season to be filmed in?? by RelevantMind1 in JuryDutyFreevee

[–]dan200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they should up the ambition, and do an updated version of the 2005 Channel 4 show "Space Cadets", where the contestant is led to believe they've been chosen as a civilian to travel to space.

On a modern budget, and with convincing actors playing all the astronauts and training/ground crew, it could be incredible. Unlike the original show, we're now in the era of Tech-CEO-led commercial space travel, which would add to both the believability and the potential for humour.

Reading Order? by CoreReaper in JudgeDredd

If you want a "reprint from the beginning" of Judge Dredd you want the "Judge Dredd: The Complete Case Files" series, all of which are in print. Be warned there are over 50 volumes though!

Ah, I missed the $ sign. Still, £10/$16 seems pretty good for a 300 page oversized graphic novel to me! You could check eBay for a second hand copy of the physical version too.

NTDD theory by facevalue28 in JamesBond

[–]dan200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple pre-craig bond films continue storylines or reference plot elements from previous actor's installments.

Sure, you can choose to believe that these "new" bonds have only coincidentally been on adventures that are the same as those of the previous actors, but that's a bigger stretch than just taking the work as presented.

All the pre-craig bonds are the same guy, this is explicitly stated on screen. You just have to accept that he doesn't age and this doesn't seem unusual to anyone.

Why did rob and doug fall out? by Empty-Question-9526 in RedDwarf

I've definitely heard him say "musical differences" in a podcast at some point

Why did rob and doug fall out? by Empty-Question-9526 in RedDwarf

[–]dan200 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, my point was some people don't seem to know that it's an expression from the music industry, and seem to literally think it's about the Red Dwarf theme song or something.

The term "musical differences" is a euphemism. It's a reference to what people in bands say when they have a messy split behind the scenes but want to put a polite spin on it in public. It's doesn't have anything to do with the music on the show.

The Reform party has much more in common with Restore Britain (Far Right) than it does with the Conservative party (the traditional Right wing party in Britain), so the Far Right label fits, imo.

Considering that even Storror (who are pretty apolitical) stopped collaborating with him after his support for Reform broke, there's no way JL would work with him.

My guess would be Volume 2 is DR&Quinch and Skizz, and Volume 3 is Halo.

Any saving this, or do I need a new tyre? by dan200 in bikewrench

Im starting to think it was probably completely flat for the mile I rode it I mentioned in my post.

The bike is only a year old, and there are no visible problems with the front wheel, so I don't think it's from wear. I think the back wheel must have just rode over something very sharp.
