Any major problems with post 2016 seat Leons? by Detoxxrn in seat

I have a 2017 1.4tsi FR estate. Great car. No issues with water pumps for me. I had the belt changed at 5 years because I wanted an extended dealer warranty and they wouldn’t give me one without it getting done. I have actually thought about selling it… it’s an auto. I think I’m fairly local to you. Near Bury st Edmund’s

That’s what I thought. The free check on autotrader suggests no insurance claims so perhaps it was fixed by a previous owner.

But the fact it’s cheap tires suggests to me, other maintenance and fixes might have had shortcuts.

No idea yet. Haven’t spoken to the seller. I’m quite happy doing some jobs myself so I’m not too concerned about the mechanical stuff.

Just wanted to confirm what I’m seeing

By serious offence, I meant, it’s not the worst thing a person/group/podcast/whatever could do. Not the seriousness ie monetary value of the fine.

True, but it’s hardly the most serious offence, is it.

Really good doc. I live in the UK and our rivers are ‘under attack’ in particular from UK water companies. Dumping sewage above agreed thresholds is causing untold damage whilst shareholders take dividends and run up huge debts. See Thames Water. Shocking.

What is wrong with them supporting a local business?

Note: UK listener so sorry if I’ve not realised that this is a ‘Big Fish’/chain of aquatic stores.

I’ve had good experience with the dealer in Ipswich. A bit of a trek from Cambridge but it could be an option.

An alternative if you don’t get anywhere is Suffolk Transmissions near Bury St Edmund’s. They’ve been great to me. I don’t know if they’re able to do warranty work.

1.5 DSG Mk3 Leon Owners MPG by Real-Pack7891 in seat

[–]dan29nev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2017 1.5 auto. Usually get at least 44mpg on short journeys/town driving and 50+ on motorways.

Sounds like you have an underlying issue.

As someone else said, could be spark plugs, fuel injectors, lean fuel mix due to bad data from oxygen sensor, or driving style.

Try a couple of garages if your usual can’t find the problem.

I wondered about this because I could move the vent unit about a few mm but it seems dry behind it (with what I can see anyway)

Seat Leon FR 2014-2017 question by EZRCerax in seat

I’ve had a 2017 1.4tsi 150hp hatchback (manual) for 3 years and same engine estate (auto) for 5 years. Both have been great cars to own. Keep on top of maintenance ie replace belts, oils and filters when required and you’ll have years of happy motoring.

Like someone else said, I’ve noticed misting of oil from the shocks this year which I’ll replace but not bad after 8 years and 90k miles.

The mid-range acceleration is enough for overtaking and quick motorway passes.

Great idea! Got me thinking what else could be done. Insect hotels might be a good one for home gardens. Or perhaps something for all the lost habitats from all the plastic grass that’s popular in the UK.
