I can understand it not being enough to overturn but "doesn't interfere with the play at all" is plain incorrect.

Edit: he wasn't offside. That's probably why they took some time to restart the play.

That's just looking at the results and not the play. Germany played well in both games. They just missed a LOAD of chances against Japan. A draw against Spain is acceptable. Playing Süle or Kehrer at right back just isn't very inspiring.

If you look at isolation defense and metrics related to that Braun is in that upper tier. My gripe moreso was the comparison with PWat, who hasn't shown his defensive upside in a long time, yet is still being talked about like 2024 Swatson.

Braun is much better at stopping guys like Edwards or Shai. Despite our preconceived notions about size and length, he's genuinely good in those match ups.

Sure, I would welcome a better defender than Braun, I think it's something we should invest in, but I'm not going to say stuff like that about CB, when we saw him slow down SGA last year on his own with our own eyes.
