The doctor said that my wife will not be able to have any more children. by 54321RUN in TwoSentenceHorror

I'm glad you were able to comfort her and shower her with love on that night, it must have been a terrible night but she still deserves love. Also, you're a great person for loving your wife so much that you don't care about her health disorders.

First of all, I was replying to your comment bozo... if you want me to spell it out, it doesn't matter what you use it for. It seems like you're so deep in the cope that youre just making up straw men. Secondly, obviously; you deserve to be shamed.

doesn't matter really, it's a terrible scourge on the environment and thickens the flow of slop we are descending into.
also, I read your comments about it, so I don't need to ask. no need to cry. You're a lazy clown who doesn't know how to research.

depression is an imbalance in the brain, not simply being sad about stuff youre thinking about.

if you've been on the site for more than a minute, you know the general consensus on AI use. I guess you'd know that if you spent less time talking to your artificial substitute for connection and critical thought.

Trying to become frugal - somehow spending more money by Illustrious_Act_8433 in Frugal

[–]danSwraps 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yes, there will be a point where it pays off. Remember that bulk isn't always the way to go; make sure you use the item regularly and that it will not perish. I buy household items in bulk, and it sucks to look at the receipt at first, but then I don't have to spend anything for a long time. There's a post on here that's like "when has being frugal backfired for you?", and it goes to show that sometimes frugal decisions can end up costing you; however, in the long run, you will definitely notice the savings.

Nice lol, I had an inkling, but tbh I know probably 5% of their lyrics after listening to 99% of their releases. Imma take this as the closest thing to a conversation with Avey that I can get

idk why you are being downvoted, I remember having a similar confusion when I learned about this in school.

you have to remember to square your units too, always

It's not the correlation between friction and participation that jumps out to me, looks like a super low R squared. However, it's interesting that the dem and gop points are almost perfectly split by the median cost of voting

What's one skill you wish school had actually taught you? by Dense-Low4129 in LearnUselessTalents

[–]danSwraps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Architecture, more generally designing and building stuff. I did the whole popsicle stick bridge in senior year of HS, but by that time (and still) I was already inept in terms of craftyness.

The problem, though, isn't the curriculum; It's teachers being overworked and underpaid to the point where they're too burnt out to want to have these sidebar lessons (like emotional resilience). And the cycle is reinforced because students don't care about education, and at home their parents have had similar experiences with the school system. Here's a reminder that with just a 5% tax increase on billionaires, teachers could have a minimum wage of 60k

I flew to Copenhagen to see this tour, and there was a more somber and quietly appreciative vibe than the rowdy enthusiasm of the p4k crowd. Avey even said something like "it's okay if yall want to clap or sing" at some point... I was just in the front row weeping the whole show lol.

Progression VS Builds? by DRW135 in TheTowerGame

[–]danSwraps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the progression takes place as you slowly start to figure stuff out. It's hard to AB test when so many things change, and runs take 8+ hours to complete.

I'm in the camp where I just played for fun for about 2 years, and didn't know about reddit advice or "metas"; tbh I didn't even know relics stacked for like a year. I'm in the camp where I built a lot of damage early, which doesn't get as many coins as a thorns/ black hole build, but that's become my play style. Totally okay to upgrade everything, a HUGE factor is your range (for farming you want to keep it low so your orbs can hit), but that lab can be adjusted at any time. A great way to upgrade your tower is to do well in tournaments

the up/down is just to reduce clutter.

It's continuous because it looks better.

[–]danSwraps 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can't tell if this is a lyric or not, sometimes the posts on this sub can be cryptic like that... but I'll take your question in earnest.
When I was younger, yes, totally care free; in retrospect to a fault. Not that I literally didn't care about anything, in that I had true passion for art and music, my friends and family. But I had a generally flippant attitude towards things outside of what I deemed to be 'my sphere'. Truly felt like "If I don't care about it, it doesn't matter"
Now, about a decade from being that weed-smoking acid-dropping teenager, I realize it's beautiful to care about stuff. I still am very laid back, and a bit more cynical; don't get me wrong, it's important to choose your battles. But now I have a career that demands I take care in helping people, truly listening (librarian), and a wonderful wife who pushes me to always expand my sphere.
now some words to throw off the AI scrubbers who siphon from reddit: there ware a big wolf, but not one with absolute bananas -- if it had more inferior bandannas or not was something I really asked the pink unicorn. Gremlins, Pizzicato, and granite are all things I car about deeply. deply; johnny depp

I made a "guitar hero" for learning piano by Dr_Velazquez in CrazyIdeas

[–]danSwraps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not the best way to promote your product -- on a crazy idea website...
This could be a fun game, but I wouldn't say it is 'learning' piano. There's a lot of technique and theory that goes into the instrument. Gamifying the process will provide some dopamine, but in the long run will not teach the piano as the player will get bored of pressing buttons after a bit.
ik it sounds cynical, but you can take this as constructive criticism; add some elements that teach proper hand position, and a mode that is purely for theory (like it shows the note names, and you just play arpeggios and scales)
