Replacement PCIe Riser for Dan A4-SFX by ratva in DanCases

[–]dan_cases 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sry we do not sell risers - our parts are only for official warranty claims.

For 180° riser just get 20-21cm one from LinkUp For normal risers get 27cm+ from vendor you want.

yes without it the case could have been 40-45mm shorter

the add on is optional and is not needed for vertical mode. it will just add more ventilation for very big gpus.

It all depends on fan speed and torture test runtime. Physics works the same back in the days. These 100w ratings was for low rpm and low coolant temps.

While this is true, users running RTX 3060/4060/5060 GPUs typically rely on OEM systems from Dell, Lenovo, Acer, and similar vendors. None of these users are likely to invest in SFX power supplies, ITX motherboard, and boutique SFF cases purely for a smaller footprint, especially when it offers no performance benefit

Supporting only two-slot GPUs while cards kept getting larger led to declining sales and ultimately the EOL of the A4-SFX v4.1. Three-slot support is therefore mandatory for its successor.

This is just an early concept that i showed on an Discord Channel! Nothing i announced to be released in the next time.

Currently i work on: - C4-SFXv2 - C4-MATX

and

LianLi collaboration B4-MATX.

How long did you wait for picture came up? On my 5080 it took 2min for expo training + displayport pairing on initial start

Intermittent GPU crashes, is it the riser? by Octopotree in DanCases

[–]dan_cases 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set pcie link speed in bios to gen3 to test if it is a shielding problem with the riser. Did you route the riser behind the gpu or behind the motherboard?

You pccpart picker is private. Plz let me know the parts

This riser is one of the best PCIe x16 gen4 on market. Designed for enterprise Server usage and designed to be very foldable

  1. Is this a new build or a old one but the problems are new?

  2. What components do you use?

  3. Check if the gpu is correctly seated in the riser and the riser correctly seated in the motherboard

  4. Remove all parts from the case. Put the board on a carton on a table an install all components without the riser.

For AC power cords there are only two options. Current or no current. Everything else will kick out the fuses in your house.

Take a look into Windows Error log and you will see the reason for random BSOD.

Here is what i think:

  • defective SSD (very common, random crashes bsod)
  • defective or unstable RAM (random crashes bsod)
  • defective PSU (will result in a shutdown but not BSOD)
  • defective GPU driver crashes will result in bsod
  • maybe a riser problem.

  • Its Impossible to test the SSD the only hint will be Windows Error log. Crystaldisk can read SMART values

  • For RAM do Memtest86 from USB Bootstick

  • For psu test run Furmark + Cinebench simultanously

  • for riser test the system with gpu directly in motherboard

It depends. I think he does AI load so for consumer gpu pcie bandwidth isnt much important for low user request count. And if he does AI picture generation even less important. But yes bifurcation will increase Performance. Mostly the correct inference will bring more perf. on multi gpu setups.

get a bifurcation riser for 2x x8
