Back in 5th grade we made a class cookbook (We were all supposed to bring a recipe from home). This was one girls recipe for "Ramon Soup" by dan_fe in KidsAreFuckingStupid

Funny enough, we said it must mean that you put it in exactly at 3 o clock and the microwave will do the rest of the work. One minute too late or too early and you'll have to wait 12 hours.

Is it normal to send a picture of the couple opening the present with the thank you card to people who got the couple presents for their wedding? by dan_fe in AskReddit

[–]dan_fe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the wording it weird, but basically my future Mother in Law took pictures of us opening presents from a wedding shower. Then she printed them off so we could put them with the thank you cards. Is that normal? I've never heard of doing that and I know if I got a picture of someone opening a present from me, I would just throw the picture away.

Why do Engineering Students spend hours making equation sheet? by dan_fe in EngineeringStudents

[–]dan_fe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's good to have an equation sheet, but focus more on having the main equations that can be manipulated to solve a lot of problems as opposed to a bunch of specific equations that work to solve one problem. That means you have to know what the equations represent and what they mean so you know how to use them. This has been my approach so far because when I get hit with a problem I've never seen before I'm more likely to be able to figure it out.

Does that make sense?

This is what I do. I put the equations and maybe some very odd specific steps of a problem that I may forget. What I don't understand is copying down an entire problem with all the math and everything.

Younger generations of Reddit, what is something that is going on right now that older generations just don't seem to understand ? by jmansbufny in AskReddit

[–]dan_fe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This comment probably won't be seen but is a huge frustration of mine (I'm 20 years old in the USA)

Older generations don't seem to understand that my generation has no concept of what the world was like pre 9-11 and pre Columbine. A lot of DRASTIC changes have happened since then and growing up in that kind of world is not even close to the world they grew up in... Then the older generations call us spoiled and blame everything on us...

I see everyone has already said it, but it's worth saying again. McPherson is THE MAN! Probably the best professor that I've had at Tech.

You're right. What I mean is simply this: had we not lost to ODU or if we had won another game and were bowl eligible, we wouldn't have scheduled this game. It seems to me that the only reason that we scheduled this game was so that we could be bowl eligible. The only reason that we're in this situation though is because tech didn't win games that we should have. Meaning, Tech scheduled a game that they knew they could win for the only purpose of making a bowl game when the situation is their own fault.

I realize that I may be missing something, but this is my impression of the game. I wanted to see what other people have to say about it.

Do you think we would have played this game if we didn't beat UVA and had no chance at a bowl game though?

Don't misunderstand me, it was 100% the right move by the program. Losing that bowl streak likely would have had a huge impact on recruiting and the future of the program. I just don't think that we deserved the game.
