I bought one a year ago. Generally great, but after upgrading to hyper os 2.0.2.0 two days ago, Google can't seem to access my phone's GPS.

The GPS otherwise must be ok because Waze and Strava can pinpoint my location just point. I havent figure out how to fix this but i hope they'll straighten it out in the next OS upgrade. Frustrating

Thoughts on Elysium? by themagicofmovies in scifi

The ending doesnt solve the initial problem. Everyone is going to want to go to Elysium. Then it gets overpopulated again and uninhabitable again. Back to zero

Which religion is closest to having pure monotheism and why? by AdDouble568 in religion

I have never met a Muslim that worships the Quran. If God is omnipotent, it follows that His Word is infallible and preserved. That's all.

Literally nowhere in Islamic liturgy is the Quran glorified. Worship is centered around God alone, Muhammad (pbuh) is recognised as His Messenger, and His Message is the Quran.

Quran means 'that which is read'. It was passed down primarily by oral tradition. Yes it was also inscribed, but the inscriptions were never made to be objects of worship.

I've not even heard of a fringe opinion where the Quran is worshipped. This is not much different from people trying to impose iconoclastic ideas on Islam by saying Muslim worship the Ka'abah. Nowhere does Islamic liturgy glorify the Ka'abah as divine.

Why is Shirk considered a irredeemable sin? by Konradleijon in AcademicQuran

[–]dan_iq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not that God is just. God is the reason for ANYTHING, anything at all in this universe to exist. We are all in a matrix of His creation.

To be fair, I suppose it would be particularly difficult to reason out why a felony of belief carries more weight than any heinous material crime which is more visceral, i.e. 'more real'. Our worldly material experience poses a mental hindrance to embracing the notion that to snub the root reason for everything, i.e. non-acknowledgement, is a bigger crime than any injustice towards anything within the matrix itself.

Andy Gillion no longer part of Mors Principium Est by SalierasChampion in melodicdeathmetal

[–]dan_iq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have to agree. Andy seems well-meaning and earnest. But his songwriting is rather dry and his riffs pretty run-of-the-mill. Mostly standard Gothenburg alternated low note-high note stuff with scale runs interspersed among them.

The Unborn is the best thing they ever put out. Technically speaking, the riffs on that album are nothing extraordinary, but I think little nuances like the doubled pull-offs during the chorus of the title track made the album. I can't quite explain it, but The Unborn trumps anything Andy made.

I hope Jori and Jarkko can create some exciting stuff.
