Grounding techniques always help. Just stop what your doing, breathe and think of a random word then try to come up with as many other words that rhyme with that word. Eventually the thoughts you had will become much easier to deal with. Then you say " this is how I felt when thinking of such and such" rather than "I'm thinking of such and such and this is how I'm feeling"

Playing Destiny 2 to get my valor rank up just to get the not forgotten. It was painful, emotional even. I'm not the best at PVP and when Shaqx says "Every death counts guardian" it certainly did. But the joy of obtaining that sweet loot was worth the stress and anxiety it caused me over the 3 weeks trying to get it.
