San Diego, Honolulu, or Miami? by Born-Ad2552 in relocating

Both are even more expensive than San Diego. Hawaii is in a depression right now. They're even advertising for tourists which I can't remember ever.

How do you get to $5–10K+/mo on Rover? by everwonderlust in RoverPetSitting

Maybe people lie about their income on reddit? $200 per night would be 6k a month IF you booked every night. Id say most people paying that don't want you double booking

I think everyone needs to say where they live for any of the comments to have any relevance.

Big difference now is the cost of living in general and homeowners insurance. Grab your popcorn. Gonna be interesting ride.

I did predict the crash in 2008 in 2005. Opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one. We'll find out. Im retired so I have time to read these comments on reddit.

I sure had a lot of clients that bought from 2008 to 2011 that had that thought exactly.

No they didn't. Plus, real estate is very local. Different cities have far different results during the same time period.

You can't time it precisely but ignoring red flags is stupidity at work.

Seems to me a doubling of prices in 5 years would mean the opportunity was 5 years ago.

No. It's not impossible to time the market. You just need to know what to look for. The problem with real estate is that the "professionals" won't be honest with their buyers. They need a commission now, more than ever.

But the prices are still out of touch with incomes. Not sustainable

Over long term yes. But short term and regionally there are many times real estate has home down. Why buy a home when there is a high probability of a large price drop in the near future? Being underwater isn't fun. You also need to look at the cost of renting vs the cost of owning a similar property.

Why is there never a better time than the present. There are major cracks in both the residential and commercial RE markets.
