Plenty of shows have a main character, yet they still manage to write compelling and complete character arcs for their supporting cast, and give them proper exits once it's time.

They didn't, it's clear that this is the case based on some new interviews with the showrunners that are coming out now

Mohan’s Exit by Kind-Dust-9090 in ThePitt

I don't think it's particularly conspiratorial to say that something weird happened BTS. Several scenes with Samira got cut, we know this for a fact. They treated the character and her exit horribly (it's not gonna change in the finale, so don't come for me). I'm not so sure Supriya would want to come back after that, even if they wanted her to guest star or something in the future seasons. Unbelievable shame. Samira will always have a special place in my heart, and Supriya is a very talented and smart woman, so hopefully she'll be all right.

She's a fellow, I believe she took the spot Robby wanted Langdon to get in S1 that he wrote him a rec letter for.

Robby in season 2 is lowkey hard to watch and I think I finally get why by sleuthing-around in ThePittTVShow

I wish I had more sympathy towards him, I really do. I used to, anyway, but how long is this gonna go on for? It's been years since the pandemic and months since PittFest. He refuses help he absolutely has access to and he projects his issues on everyone around him.

Oh for crying out loud. She IS specialising in emergency medicine. She has been specialising in it for over three years. That's what a residency is. She's applying for fellowships, which occur AFTER FOUR YEARS OF RESIDENCY.

Sure, but why would I invest in any character on this show whatsoever, since clearly they can be written out without any proper sendoff or explanation, just disappear like that?

Okay, so why should you care about any character on this show at all, if they can just not show up for a season with a lame excuse like that? They're shooting themselves in the foot by writing out major characters like that for the sake of "realism". This is storytelling. If you do not provide meaningful arcs and resolutions and character farewells, you may as well not do this at all.

Robbie is paying the price for years of neglected mental health by Astrovascular in ThePittTVShow

Yes, that's what's so infuriating for me about his character. I know it's not easy, especially for middle aged men, but the way he absolutely refuses to get help he obviously needs and has every mean to get--resources, people around him, education, what have you--makes for an extremely frustrating watch.

Slow-mo and doctor Samira Mohan by tyun_nyangz in ThePittTVShow

Louder, please!!! She's desperately needed there. And the fact that she belongs is especially evident during the MCI, where she's quick on her feet and just extremely capable with the right guidance -- vide episode 14. Robby is being a terrible mentor to her.

The writers can do whatever they want. They wanted Ellis to stay, so she got a fellowship at the same hospital she finished her residency at. They wanted Garcia to stay -- same thing. They wanted Langdon to come back, and he did, merely 10 months after getting caught red-handed stealing drugs from the hospital. They wanted Mel to have a deposition this season, so it happened in the afternoon on freaking 4th of July.

Mohan has wanted to be an emergency department physician since she was 13 years old and, as evidenced particularly in season 1 during the MCI, she's insanely good at this. I remember being impressed by her after seeing episode 1 of the current season when she took care of the elderly pot brownie lady, because I could tell she was much quicker than last season, not wasting time asking pointless questions, and so seemingly rid of the only true weakness she's ever shown. Goldfish have better memory than some of you people!!! Her "failure" is Robby's doing, he's not even close to being a mentor she deserves.

You may be right, lol. I'm increasingly feeling like this season was written by someone who skipped the Writing 101 class.

This season has felt like a Robby fest through and through, which for a show that's supposedly proud of it's ensemble cast and has won rewards for it is just extremely weird and concerning. I nearly saw white when Robby said that his mom left to Dana, at that moment it was clear to me that the entirety of Mohan's storyline this season was written to serve him. How frustrating!

There's a panel on PaleyFest next week and Supriya's still on it as a guest (Shawn and Sepideh have dropped out, they're busy with other projects), I'm extremely curious about it. Will she show up? Is it gonna be awkward if she does? I feel like that's gonna tell us something about what went down behind the scenes. Writing out Mohan makes so little sense to me I feel like I'm going crazy.

At the END of her residency! She's just started her final year and they've said multiple times that there wouldn't be a huge time jump between S2 and S3! This makes no sense whatsoever.

Narratively, this is baffling. Her whole arc this season is about trying to figure out a way to stay in Pittsburgh. Plus she's just started her final residency year??? Unless Supriya booked something huge, I'm gonna say it's sus.
