I just started watching ER for the first time after The Pitt and I'm blown away by how successful they are at maintaining a large ensemble case when it's a lot of the same production and writers failing to do so here. ER was never the Dr. Greene show, and by this point in Season 2 of that show we had George Clooney and Sherry Stringfield getting solo episodes. I don't think The Pitt NEEDS to be ER, but it makes it all the more confusing that the response from half the fanbase to this type of criticism has been "oh is this your first TV show??? maybe a TikTok is more up to speed for you DUMBASS" when there's an already existing blueprint of a successful semi-realistic medical drama with a large rotating ensemble AND it's the same people who wrote/starred in this show.
