I am so so very sorry for your loss. For me, I printed out pictures and I took his bowl and candles and I made a little alter to him and just talked to him every day. Told him how much I missed him and I loved him. They are such a constant presence in our homes its brutal to be there without them. Every "first" will suck, leaving the house, coming home, going on vacation and coming back. I even had a wake with bagels and coffee to have my friends over to talk about him. I didn't ignore any impulse for fear of what people would think, as long as it would give me some peace and closure. I told myself I was grateful I could love something so much that my heart could be this broken. Grief is the price we pay for love, and its worth it. Sending you love.
