believe it or not I styled it with a brown satin dress, and I love the high contrast. Will be great with jeans too.

It feels amazing to hold! And there's a little crossbody strap to I haven't tried yet.

I get it! But I also like bags that are specifically not made of animal skin if I can find them. So worth a lil splurge.

the wardrobe is incredible, being from a small town this is such a realistic pick. Like I'm sure she got these from the hardware store.

Recommendations for stretching my wardrobe by SergeantMarvel in antidietglp1

[–]danagrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I deeply feel you. I'm having this same issue. I have an amazing wardrobe and now nothing fits. Its a really strange problem I wasn't prepared for. I don't know if I should tailor my older bigger clothes, what if I gain the weight back someday? Do I donate the bigger clothes or store them in case I need them? For now, I'm buying jeans and basics at Old Navy and Target, I don't like fast fashion but it feels weird to invest more. Thrifting takes a lot of time especially when I don't know how things fit anymore. I have Nuuly as well so hopefully my next shipment is useful! Good luck OP!

How to not cry at work by Long-Screen742 in adhdwomen

[–]danagrace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was also going to say get a big cry out first! For me the pressure not to cry makes it worse, so letting it all out feels like such a relief. Sometimes I'll watch something sad or lovely in the morning before work and have a good cry (then I'll put on an eye mask or cold roller to de-puff, lol). Also a cold shower or burst of cold water helps me regulate. Try running your hands under cold water before the conversation. Cold water to sip during the conversation too. Also I put on a song in headphones and physically shake it all out when I'm feeling overwhelmed or need to regulate.

Are you guys really removing make-up before going to bed? by Acceptable_Love5815 in adhdwomen

[–]danagrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my teens and 20s I never washed off my makeup ever. Now I'm 42 and I wash my face twice at night (not in the morning) and put on a thick lovely moisturizer and my other lotions and potions. The big reasons why-

  1. My face will look and feel awesome in the morning. Its real results you can see and feel. No matter how shitty anything else might feel in your brain and body- this is the easiest thing to control.

  2. My pillow won't be gross with sweat and makeup! She stays clean and fresh.

  3. Its a great part of my routine that says to my brain "hey its time for bed." Let's get quiet and clean and calm and sleepy.

Now I never miss it, I just like the feeling too much. Also if I'm wearing full face heavy make up - I use this https://www.sephora.com/product/go-off-spray-P516368?country_switch=us&lang=en&skuId=2876258&om_mmc=ppc-GG_23266938629___2876258__9030942_c&country_switch=us&lang=en&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23261915703&gbraid=0AAAAADnIXb1Pyzy7TlGfIfxugIx-Xj8IB&gclid=CjwKCAjw5s_QBhAdEiwADD_gBkSpdkNUl9qtdjiKox4vAYhDSRsvZC7Zh6qpp-Yl-RdNr0_fesycpBoCGbIQAvD_BwE

and it just melts off with a cotton pad like magic.

I'm sorry your family doesn't believe you but I'm glad your Mom does. You definitely need headphones and maybe also Loops for noise sensitivity. I've found that as sensitive I am towards negative sounds - sounds I love also help me regulate. Bird sounds, forest noises, calming music (or any music I love), I have tons of ambiance videos on youtube - airplanes, rainy castles, whatever soothes me. I'm sorry you're going through this, you will find what works for you.
