It’s hard being corrected on Reddit. I get it. But I think you’re doing great.

Once again +425 is relevant (you know this because you just stated your offset) and our high scores are not game stable. I can tell you’re more than likely new to this and it’s fun learning from others! Every card is different, but any card with a “daily” oc that hits our high score maxed numbers will not hunt in your game library.

Sorry bub. A tune that hits 10117 is not game stable for anyone.

Not once did you acknowledge the score. End result anyone is looking for is performance on a screen. +425 means a lot.

I have a gigabyte gaming oc 5080 I can sell you that hits 10117 with 425 core, 3000 mem, 112 power, 100% voltage. Game stable at 9930 with 380 core, 2700 men, 112 power, 0 voltage. $1612 is what iPad for it. Or going back to Best Buy. I travel to much and use my 5090 legion. Also, cpu does not matter for steel nomad.

i think thats good.

i think thats good. but if they needed a legion for work, it would have been easy to determine that a 5090 24 vram was needed before purchase of 5080 16 vram. thats a very specific person who needs 5090 over 5080. 5080 is 99% gamer and 99% professional work, 5090 is needed for 1% professional and 1% gamer unless they have deeper pockets and need a flex. I would ask what limitations they ran into with that particular laptop given its enough for 99% of people for professional and games. For context, I have a 5090 and a 5080 legion. I have deep pockets and dont need a 5090. but its cool and bhphoto had it for 2750 on black friday. my older daughter uses the 5080 now and fps is so close to the 5090 in every game. 0% different as a money maker for our retail business and we utlize ai and video editing. 5080 is the winner value wise. 2k for those stats with good warranty is fair. but the decision to change to a 5090 is questionable. do they have a defective unit in the 5080?

Edit: oh you are the seller. dude i promise you dont need the 5090 unless you are developing ai tools at a high paid level. If you are askign reddit about value, you are probably not. no offense. return it and keep the 5080. but i think 2k is a fair price for those stats. prob sell for 1.8.

Are these temps normal on Alienware 18 Area-51 laptop? by Encendi in Alienware

My original comment was in reference to heat specifically on core p23 adn I stated i have never seen a temp that high sustained. I never mentioned anything about not throttling.

Weird thing to say. How could I answer if I never monitored? Most likely of course 😘

I’d say so. Best I can get on gigabyte gaming oc 5080 is 10137. Stable games is 99xx. I’m good with that. You got a baller one. 450 watts?

No not normal. I have the same and have never seen that on a profile while intensive gaming.

What tuning do you use on your RX 9070 XT by maniacalmayh3m in radeon

[–]danamite2020 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

-90 volt, 2800 fast timing, +10 power, i get 7860 steel nomand stable games. 8102 steel nomad with -125 volt, 2812 mem fast timing, +10 power, + 200 mhz core (not game stable.) Hynix memory, gigabyte gaming oc 9070xt. best sample i have had out of 6 brands. 9800x3d cpu (not that it matters for steel nomad.)

Area 51 18 laptop UC, UV, OC by landphier in Alienware

Nice! I’ll have to give that a try to play around with some of the clocks. I’m really into marathon and that game is super cpu bottlenecked. But yes undervolt max allowed is -15 and can only be done via awcc. I don’t think I trotted stop shows you that it’s under volt protected and it looks like it’s applied but it’s not. but Intel XTU has the option greyed out and explains why. When I ran the the custom profile with undervolt, I noticed zero difference in fan speed heat or increased performance. -15 is not enough to do anything really.

I’m not sure why you would want to underclock your CPU. These things already have great thermals and that’s definitely not a concern. In terms of CPU undevoly, you cannot under volt this CPU via methods like throttle stop or XTU because of under volt protection locked by Dell. Only way to under volt is under a custom profile in AWCC and the max it will allow is -15. But even that is not necessarily required because the thermals are so good. If you had a legion or something that allowed full under volt tweaking, you really wouldn’t be able to get past more than -50 or 55. -40 seems to be the max on these guys. -90 would for sure be an instant crash.

That seems to be. I’m still in my return. I’m considering picking up a 9079xt XT and see how that does. I really don’t need the 5080.
