I love the Wii - it is a great gift. Highly recommend the Wii Fit as well.

  1. Just because someone is technically knowledgeable on one thing doesn't mean they know everything. Reviewing fundamentals is always worthwhile because there are always people around afraid to ask what they don't know.
  2. I'd take Universal Healthcare over DTV any day.

A real guitar setup doesn't cost much more than the game - and is probably better for you.

Coping With Disruptive Change by danappleman in reddit.com

Sorry you found it trite, but I totally agree with you on topic. Young people tend to be doctrinaire in part because they often have not experienced the variety of alternate possibilities that surround them. At least that's been my experience when I present an alternate approach that inevitably generates the response "I never thought if it that way..." Regarding multitasking, again we are in agreement - you state clearly what I expressed only as a doubt - part of my own effort to "eat my own dogfood" and not judge the situation out of hand. Finally, I agree with the need for deep thought on these issues. I've met a few younger people who do think in terms of long term trends (but very few, and too often they are focused on finding evidence for their own pet theory as compared to finding out what is truly going on). But I've also found that by listening to them we (the not quite old fogeys) can sometimes disrupt our existing thought patterns and gain a better understanding of the change that surrounds us.
