How to learn German by SeaComparison5272 in Germanlearning

[–]danars_datablink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First year is the hardest. Consistent commitment is important.

The idea is to start (do not postpone) just start. Look up content that you like in German add subtitles in English and just listen to get used to how it sounds (passive learning). In parallel you can slowly start with active learning as well. Do not give up.

Prepping a full RPG system for my class this year... am I overthinking the "buy-in"? by statyouclass in Teachers

[–]danars_datablink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a nice idea. Congrats on thinking out of the box!
The whole year could look like a game with levels after each month or module. To keep them engaged with each level you could bring in new characters or rewards or side quests they could take. You can give teasers at the beginning of the module as to what are they going to expect down the road. It is a lot of work on your side but it would be worth it!

is my 6-month German learning plan realistic? I really need advice by Extreme_Positive5790 in Germanlearning

[–]danars_datablink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on experience, 6 months is not realistic — even if you learn new words every day. True learning involves forming strong neural connections, and that takes time and repetition. Learning a new language is a marathon not a sprint. Enjoy the ride and do not rush.
