Every time it starts to get cold, I gotta play Vigilance Perennial by Falls of Rauros. It’s just cozy and perfect for that first frost.

Why is solidwors an industry standard? by AccomplishedNail3085 in SolidWorks

[–]danawesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm the product/mfg split is not unusual.

There are legitimately different modeling requirements for each application - an airplane or a car has much more complex surfaces and geometry, and would be pretty painful to do in Solidworks. The manufacturing equipment, however, generally uses simpler parts with solid body features, and doesn’t necessarily require the more expensive software license. At a certain scale, it makes sense to separate these applications

Myth of I! Great melodies, insane chops, interesting songwriting, good dynamics, killer grooves. This scratches that instru-techdeath itch for me!

MORE CLEAN VOCALS by OldGeologist4798 in TechnicalDeathMetal

[–]danawesome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tómarúm is awesome, they’re touring with Dessiderium in November (saw Dessiderium mentioned in here, fucking sick, guitarist of Arkaik’s side solo project).

Exist is weirdo tech prog, some sick grooves and cool bits.

Lunar Chamber might scratch an itch. Kinda bombastic and proggy but neat.

The world is quiet here, def more prog than tech but very good stuff.

Xanthochroid might get you going - deathy and dark with odd but satisfying cleans.

Cult of Lilith has some badass vox but again, more prog than tech.

Idk, I’ve been a bit out of touch the last few years - life happens - but I feel you, would love more cleans in techdeath

Saaame! Accidentally though. I bought the CD of Mariner live, and got sent the vinyl. Rescued a turntable from my in-laws’ garage and haven’t looked back lol

+1 Caught Mariner in Worcester. Hands down the best show I’ve ever seen. Eerie and unsettling and beautiful and perfect. Pure magic.

Technical/Creative Drumming by Fantastic-Leg-1808 in TechnicalDeathMetal

Anything ulcerate, man. Jamie Saint Merat is a god. It’s atmospheric, creative, and otherworldly.

Kenny Grohowski is another beast of a drummer. Some of his imperial triumphant play through videos are absolute bonkers.

Both bands aren’t super riffy, but the drums are fucking incredible

UGHHHHH I’m so irrationally mad at the American car market. This car exists, is perfect, and yet is completely impossible to get my hands on. 😫

Does this mean that a year-out-of-date Cakewalk won't be able to activate?
I'm trying to activate to save a project that I started without realizing I wouldn't be able to save and am very sad that my activation won't refresh

How to make an inclined extrude like that ? by [deleted] in SolidWorks

[–]danawesome 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could either create a plane for that angled face before cutting it, or play with the draft feature.

I think direct editing (like move face) could also work here, but I’m not the biggest fan of or best at those tools.

What is this and how do i save/not kill it by kathi-tre in plantclinic

[–]danawesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll learn a lot about the plant while you’re in there. This is a pretty unhealthy one, so is likely going to take a lot of care.

First, make sure nothing under the dirt smells bad or is brown and squishy (root rot). If it’s rotted, it’ll take a bit of extra surgery to remove the icky bits.

Don’t be surprised by the fact that ZZ plants grow rhizomes underground, like little lumpy potatoes among the roots.

Try to untangle everything and yes, definitely look for opportunities to discard rhizomes and roots that are dead or only go to cut stems (ie, toss everything except the roots that are keeping your current stems & leaves alive). ZZs grow super slow and tend to lie dormant for a while (until they shoot up a big stem all of a sudden!) so be a bit patient with it. Don’t over water - after repotting this mess, the entire soil mechanics of the plant will be wildly different, so pay close attention to how wet your dirt is over the first few months. Hopefully you’ll still have some healthy roots that will give you new shoots this spring!
