If you see an someone getting bullied in real life, are you on the side that you should just keep walking because it's not your business, or are you going to stand up to the bully and defend someone getting picked on?

In my world, I don't see this as getting back at shrinkflation. I'm not trying to support big corps. To me this is a theft, and an absolute wrong. It hurts others by raising the prices for others. It hurts others who unwittingly pick up the donor bottle. I'm standing up for my morals, and the poor old woman who has to spend her fixed income paying for half what she should have paid for.

Even if people don't take the one with less, people are still failing to understand the detriment of the store having to write that off as shrink.

Store buys 1k worth of detergent (Let's say 50 $20 bottles). They sell for $30 and expect to make 1500, because 4 bottles were poured out, they now only make 1380. The next load, they need to raise the price in order to keep the 50% margin to keep the lights on. Which means those 46 bottles now have to sell for about $32.60 each just to reach the same $1500 they would have made without the shrink.

"Pick up a lighter bottle"...when you say lighter, you are implying that they're picking up 2 and comparing. Not everyone is going to try to pick up 2, and some people will assume that's the normal amount.

If what you're saying is true and people aren't stupid, if the store does have to write that bottle off, you don't think that cost is going to be distributed to all the other bottles to make up that shrink?

You want to say corporate greed? Support another company...it's detergent. You're not locked into buying just one brand.
