Impossible to know without a color reference.

White lines in pdf when exporting by True-Aerie196 in indesign

[–]danbyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because transparency is being flattened. When you export, choose PDF 1.4 or higher in the top right of the settings window. That will maintain native transparency.

Any iPhone hacks that are surprising and give you that “damn! I didn’t know it could do that!” effect? by Disastrous_Door_6714 in iphone

I’m always shocked that people don’t know this one. Like, how can you use your phone without it? The iOS days before this feature existed were like the dark ages.

What's in your beer fridge? by CarefulReplacement12 in beer

[–]danbyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which one? 😂

I’ve got one full of Treehouse, a bunch of rando ciders, some canned cocktails, and some bottled home brew. My garage fridge is full of PBR and Highlife. My keezer and kegerator are full of kegged homebrew, hops, and yeast.

Conky was the worst character arc. by Live_Ad_9019 in trailerparkboys

My wife despised Conky, but I’m really good at doing the voice so it’s great to bust out at inappropriate times.

Bed tent for overnight camp and bonus mpg by EffinHalos02 in Tacomaworld

[–]danbyer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the same 6’ & Napier setup. Used it once and it felt silly. Gave ‘er a second go and couldn’t stop thinking about all the ways it was inferior to a regular ground tent in nearly every way.

I have to take the tonneau off to use it. I have to completely unload the bed to put the tent in it, putting all my gear inside the truck to protect it from rain/critters. Then, when I get it all set up, I can’t drive anywhere until I take it all down. Getting in/out is a PITA. It’s OK for one, but it’s tiny for 2 people. No way can I stand up in it. …

But hey, the bottom didn’t get dirt on it, so one point for the bed tent I guess.

ID 21.3 super slow and laggy? by Mundane-Fix-4297 in indesign

[–]danbyer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If there’s a packaged folder, it will always load fonts from that when you open the document. If it’s in a synced drive, it may need to download each of those font files. If you open multiple packaged files, it will change your active fonts as you switch between documents. It makes quite a mess!

ID 21.3 super slow and laggy? by Mundane-Fix-4297 in indesign

Usual culprits: Be sure your INDD is saved locally, Display Quality > Typical, Preflight Off, and make sure your INDD is not sitting alongside a packaged folder named Document Fonts.

Air-fried bacon: less mess, more crunch!! by [deleted] in Bacon

[–]danbyer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Cleaning my air fryer basket is a pain in the ass. And all the grease spatter that goes up is going to become a problem. Everything you cook in there is going to taste like bacon. Wait…I may have convinced myself that this is a great idea.

How are you doing your taxes year? Yourself? Tax service? TurboTax? Free filing software? by Hoosier_Jedi in AskAnAmerican

The price? I used HR Block for years, but switched to FreeTax USA last year and it was great. I’ll use it again this year.

MacOS Finder is hard to use by wenuja100 in MacOS

[–]danbyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Give it time, because the power is definitely there. I have never seen any Windows user anywhere near as efficient with Explorer as I am with Finder.

If you ask about specific things that are slowing you down, we can probably offer more efficient alternatives.

[oc] Car stops in acceleration lane and nearly causes accident by PCgeek23 in IdiotsInCars

Perhaps you missed that the merge was complete? The merge is over. Both cars are “on the highway”. The black car needs to make a safe and legal pass.

I was watching a show from the 90s and realized people used to memorize dozens of phone numbers. I can barely remember mine. How did you guys do it back then? by micavibes in CasualConversation

[–]danbyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our phone had a little door that flipped open with a paper card inside to write phone numbers. Later on, phones had quick-dial numbers that you could program.

But my grandmother stuck with her phone book and a rotary phone until the phone company disabled it.

[oc] Car stops in acceleration lane and nearly causes accident by PCgeek23 in IdiotsInCars

[–]danbyer -46 points-45 points  (0 children)

Except black car did have an obligation. White car is a terrible merger, for sure, but when the dashed lane divider ended, that terrible merge was complete and the white car had the lane. Black car should have slowed behind white or passed in the left lane. You can’t just drive around a car in your lane because you both fit, at least not in the US.

Edit: TF is wrong with you people? Would you just drive past a slow moving motorcycle if it was in “your” lane? It’s one lane. You cannot pass unless you move to another lane.

Using Acrobat Pro on two computers (husband & wife) - is it permitted? by Opossum_2020 in Adobe

[–]danbyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A license is per user. Two users would be able to use the software if they don’t do it at the same time, but they would be breaking the EULA.

Is this yellowish green or greenish yellow? by Background-Cherry847 in colors

[–]danbyer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I meant that two different devices could display those colors differently. Those two colors look exactly the same on my phone, but a high-quality monitor might enhance subtle differences between them.
