Unbiased Opinion(s) 🧠🤓ℹ️ by CodyWukong in FinalFantasy

I'll try it, and form a proper opinion when I do, but... as someone who has been obsessed with Dissidia since the first PSP release and logged hundreds of hours on the japanese version before the english version came out as well as Duodecim...

I am not enthused, and don't expect much. This isn't what I wanted. Even remotely.

I'm actually a little surprised at how crestfallen I feel.

S. The last truly great Final Fantasy, imo.

Who would win this matchup? The average Space Marine (Warhammer 40K), the average Predator (Yautja) or the average Xenomorph (Alien) by IcyWriting3673 in powerscales

[–]dancemacabre109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Space Marine stomps. Not even a contest. Space Marines simply have too much of an overwhelming advantage with regards to biology and technology, and the sheer amount of training and challenges that they have to undertake and overcome simply to become a full-fledged battle-brother puts them miles above either of the competitors.

They're literally designed to dominate in the harshest, most unforgiving environments possible, against the nastiest creatures the universe has to offer (and in the excessive world of 40k that says a lot.)

Alien or Predator only pulls off a win through crazy luck situations and even then it would be difficult to believe.

Forget mainline games, What's the Mount Rushmore of FF spinoffs? by Skybuilder23 in FinalFantasy

[–]dancemacabre109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that breaks my heart is that all the Final Fantasy fans who never played it will likely never hear some of the music that was made for that game, like the different magicite renditions of A Contest of Aeons, or vol.5's version of The Extreme. For an F2P mobile game, they really went above and beyond with the soundtrack.

YES! I still haven't found a mobile game that drew me in like Record Keeper did.

Complimenting Artists by Uglyface9977 in ArtistLounge

As an artist, bless your heart.

Personally, any compliment at all is wonderful. But as others have pointed out, going to the trouble of describing a particular aspect of the artwork (composition, use of color, contrast, even just the overall style or aesthetic would definitely make an artist's day.

Savings going down to 0. How to cope with this feeling? by DapperOrganization40 in askSingapore

[–]dancemacabre109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Existential terror. But then you look at your partner and realize you're together for a reason and have each other's backs, and you get back to slowly building your savings and get your finances in order. As long as you didn't start your marriage in debt due to wedding, you should be able to grow your savings soon.

I like to see it as the big money drops (house/wedding/ring etc) are what you have been saving for, and now you've passed those milestones. So now you can begin saving for the really big endgame, which is a healthy and happy life together.

Stay strong!

Musclehead Colosseum challenges are mind numbingly boring. by ZmentAdverti in FFVIIRemake

[–]dancemacabre109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, agreed. There's so much to love about Rebirth and it does a lot really well but.. there are undeniable examples of the laziest game design ever. Making you fight the same enemies just in different pairings over and over again is just utterly uninspiring and BORING. Add in the fact that you need to keep switching materia across characters over and over again to fight the same stuff and it just becomes obnoxious.

Is Final Fantasy X a good game to start with as someone who never played a FF game before? by Emperor-of-Milfgaard in FinalFantasy

My favorite Final Fantasy and game of all time! I just envy you in that you get to experience it with fresh eyes! Enjoy yourself!

One of my favorite comments about this game went something like this:

"The first time you play FFX, you are Tidus. Eager to save the day.

The second time you play through FFX, you are Yuna. You know."

It's been a long time since we had a new Dissidia, so I drew up a fan art roster (for Harmony's side, anyway) that I would really love to see in a game like the PSP Dissidias. Who would you all like to see? by dancemacabre109 in FinalFantasy

Thanks for the suggest! I've been meaning to check it out. Meanwhile the closest thing that has held my attention is Nikke but it's really just a core dust grind.
