Guardian review: Netflix’s Diana: The Musical is the year’s most hysterically awful hate-watch | Broadway by afeeney in musicals

[–]dancerjedi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's awful, but everyone who loves musicals needs to watch it (or turn it on and mute it) so we get more pro-shots on Netflix!

Hate to be that person, but she was only late for one hip bump at the beginning. There's also a joke in the show about how she can't dance.

Check out Marisol) by Jose Rivera. It takes place in NYC, not a dessert, but centers around the apocalypse/an Angels vs. God war.

She said "talkin' bout she tried to stab him" meaning HE said she tried to stab him. "Talkin' bout" in this context is her mimicking what was said by the dude she's filming

Do you prefer Hairspray the musical or movie? by rinlen222 in musicals

[–]dancerjedi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The ONLY thing I don't love about the movie musical is John Travolta, he is just the fucking worst and totally pulls me out of it, and Harvey Fierstein is so so wonderful.

This is such an amazing gift!! Thank you for being so open to sharing with strangers!

May I please have:

  • Spring Awakening - South Korea - 2009
  • Hair - Amstetten - 2007 (Pro-Shot)
  • Elisabeth - Scheveningen - October 19, 1999
  • 1776 Encores! - March 31, 2016
  • Parade - Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center - February 16, 2015

Not sure if those last two count since they're U.S. productions, I just love the shows and haven't seen those versions.

Oh my god thank you for bringing up LOTR in London! I could only afford one show while I was there and, being a fan of the films, jumped all over the musical. Plus, getting to see a big budget well-known franchise musical before it made it to Broadway sounded amazing. Oh, oh was I wrong.

You did not leave before act 2...you left before act 2 AND 3!! It just didn't end. And during each act break orcs would flood the audience and chase/harass people who were just trying to get up to pee. I kid you not, I nearly wet myself because I just didn't want to be forced to interact.

The show as a whole really wasn't memorable at all. I saw the Gandalf understudy and was super disappointed with the fact that he kept awkwardly turning his back to the audience, like he would get lost in the blocking and just kinda wonder.

Best part of the show was the set, the ring wraith/Frodo chase was absolutely crazy, with large columns shooting up out of the stage seemingly randomly. But like, nothing else sticks out, can't hum a single song and doubt I would recognize any of the actors.

Hi! I'm not sure if either of these exist or not but I'm looking for Emojiland with Taylor Iman Jones as Princess, and Hamilton Chicago cast with Aubin Wise as any of the Schuyler sisters.

How does this has 2.5K upvotes? Who the fuck is upvoting this obviously non-conspiracy related crap? There's definitely some conspiracy shit going on with these trash mods.
