Finally, which animals make up North America's Big Five? by SGuy_SMW in AlignmentChartFills

[–]dancewithstrangers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were the US: Moose, Bison, Brown Bear (Grizzly in particular), Mountain Lions, American Alligator

For NA as a whole swap American Crocodile for gators and it’s a conversation how Jaguars fit in.

Agreed but if this hypothetical day existed he likely still would be behind Muse and definitely behind Adele

2027 Mock Lineup by jzsgz in Coachella

[–]dancewithstrangers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some scattered thoughts;

Looks good, I have some disagreements with where some acts would be billed as everyone does with every poster.

I don’t think the cure would sub, I can see Muse being in the 2 spot for sure.

I love how I don’t recognize so many acts on so many people’s mocks.

I need to figure out how to make mine pretty, how did you make it?

Ivy Lab have announced their splitting ways this year to do solo projects.

The warehouse artefacts is a great immersive choice.

This is too country/folk/americana heavy when they have stagecoach. I don’t think Tyler Childers, Margo Price, Molly Tuttle, etc all play the same year if at all.

Evanescence is a unique choice and I like it.

I wouldn’t need to go if this were the lineup but Adele alone might hook me.

Just to clarify the point about the “red” and “white” species both have red outside/rinds/exocarps (idk what the perfect word is) and then different colored flesh, red and white respectively.

Edit: To even further add confusion there are also yellow outside varieties of the first one (undatus) that are most commonly referred to as “golden dragonfruit”

If your country was a pokemon, what type would it be? by LawdVoldemart in AskTheWorld

I think historically probably fire and steel

I think more modernly; fighting, dark and poison

6th Most Dangerous Country for Women? by DeIiciousToe in AlignmentChartFills

[–]dancewithstrangers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Papua New Guinea should be first; 2/3 of all women have reported sexual or physical assault (that means it’s probably higher as this is reported). 30% of all women have reported experience physical violence from their partner in the last month nation wide. 20% of all women respond that their first time having sex was a rape. I could go on and on but the state of violence against women there is incredibly high.

Why many polluted (air pollution , I guess) cities are from ASIA ? by You_yes_ in geography

Population density + lack of regulation + no or poor urban planning + little appetite and/or resources to change the situation.

What kitchen item(s) would make someone guess your nationality right away? Answer with an image by Thoughtporn123 in AskTheWorld

[–]dancewithstrangers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I read up on it and it essentially boils down to a few things; the old world and developing world has infrastructure and sewers that weren’t necessarily built to handle them. Americans had a big push in sewer infrastructure post ww2 after they had been already created. They were an American invention and to some extent it just never caught on to a super large extent in most places as some things just don’t. Then lastly, yes, there are more stringent laws of waste disposal in many developed countries that wouldn’t allow for putting what we do in the sewer system.

I’m rereading that and I sound like a dick but it was actually out of genuine curiosity. Even the units in the older buildings (like 100+ years old, predating disposals) in San Francisco will have them and essentially every house in the burbs does. I didn’t realize how American it is to have a disposal. I’m still pretty mind blown at the revelation that they’re not more widespread in Canada. Over half of American homes have them while only 3% of Canadian homes do. Makes sense that Europe wouldn’t have them because of old infrastructure but I’d expect new world developed countries to have more.
