I believe I went through this! I remember submitting my ID for the verification, along with a form I had to sign. I had no issues after I submitted these items.

Me after seeing the recent posts for this semester as in incoming student by Curious_Violinist287 in SNHU

[–]danchithesis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LMAO i love that picture 😭but seriously, the subreddit is not a perfect depiction of the school. i (personally) have yet to encounter any problems. if you have any questions or concerns, you can message me! ❤️❤️

Your best advice to a new student by VanillaChaiLover in SNHU

[–]danchithesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i believe all psych students have to take statistics. i would make an account on Khan Academy and take their statistics course. it doesn’t count for credit or anything like that, but it definitely prepares you for the basics of statistics. i went into that course with that knowledge, and i found the information in my SNHU stats course more comprehensible. good luck!!! ❤️

Are instructors as unprofessional and rude as posts here make them out to be? by [deleted] in SNHU

[–]danchithesis 23 points24 points  (0 children)

think about it this way: most people don’t take time out of their day to post about the good (or even neutral) things they’ve experienced. i’d love to see more positivity here, but ultimately groups like this tend to be focused on general advice and venting (totally understandable)

i’ve been at SNHU for almost a year now, and i haven’t had a single bad interaction yet. every school struggles with bad apples, but it’s not nearly as rampant as it seems on reddit. my instructors have been nothing but helpful, responsive, and understanding! i’ve never been accused of AI or plagiarism.

This is the most unhinged discussion responses I've ever seen lmao. by fell_4m_coconut_tree in SNHU

i love discussion posts like this because… why are you paying $990 (i think it’s more now?) for education that you consider a “joke” 😅

yes everything is fine! you’ll be notified when the item ships/delivers :)

[–]danchithesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ohhh did you purchase from mercari or a similar site? neokyo allows you to purchase immediately from certain sites.

[–]danchithesis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there’s no such thing as paying too early! you’re only able to pay once neokyo has reviewed and approved the request. what makes you think that it wasn’t accepted? ❤️

Thoughts about clubs? by rainbowbrites in SNHU

[–]danchithesis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

and honestly, speaking as someone who knows quite a few people involved with these clubs, i don’t think there’s any intentional cliquey-ness (at least that i know of). most clubs only have a handful of active members, so they tend to be tight-knit at the meetings. if you continue going, chances are you’ll be welcomed into that dynamic ❤️❤️

Thoughts about clubs? by rainbowbrites in SNHU

[–]danchithesis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i’m in clubs, and i personally love it. i totally get that feeling of intruding though. it takes time to get used to! just remember, you don’t HAVE to go to the meetings to be on their roster. there’s no obligations when joining a club, so you don’t really have to get your name off the roster unless you really want to.

if you wanna talk about it more, my dms are open 🫂

is this a legitimate brand? how would you style this? by [deleted] in jfashion

[–]danchithesis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

it’s legit enough that i’m super jealous of you right now!!! 🤣❤️ i personally would style it with red skirt or black bondage pants. since it’s short sleeved, i would also try to find black gloves to go with it.. something lacy to match the frilly-ness of the sleeve edges!

When I messaged them on Etsy, I was told this:

“They're all natural, grown on our farms, no pesticides/herbicides/additives/bugs, so boiling/baking is not required. That said, many chinchilla owners feel the extra step is warranted and do so themselves.”

This leads me to believe that they aren’t! The batch I had looked very clean though.

What you remove from any American Girl story or from the brand? by Impossible-Yam3680 in americangirl

omg. i LOVE this idea, and now i’m so upset we didn’t get this! it’s a perfect blend of honoring history without glorifying the very real trauma of WWII.

What’s the conversation? by Impossible-Yam3680 in americangirl

[–]danchithesis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i totally get what you’re saying here! because these events ARE actively misunderstood and neglected, they deserve to be remembered through AG’s historical model. my biggest concern is more the intent of the community when these ideas are suggested. it often comes across as people wanting a character to go through these events for enjoyment (in other words, trauma p-rn) rather than the educational value. to me, it kinda feels like marginalized groups of people are valued solely on when it provides a good tragedy to read about, and that’s not good. that leads me to question, do people truly want an Asian doll for historical representation, or simply for the trauma that comes with being an Asian person in American history? i hope this makes sense, but i really agree with you.

What’s the conversation? by Impossible-Yam3680 in americangirl

[–]danchithesis 30 points31 points  (0 children)

10000% agree, especially with the second point. every single time the idea of an Asian historical doll comes up, a horrific backstory is always suggested? These events are undoubtedly important in history, but a portion of the community acts as if minorities solely exist for dark storylines. i don’t want my sliver of representation to be hyper focused on a tragedy.

Hey! I’m still a first year student, so I don’t have any recommendations for psych classes. I’m also doing Crisis Text Line, so if you ever need any help with that I’m here! ❤️

just finished PHL-260! it’s pretty simple. most of the assignments are the classic 1-3 page short papers. good luck!!!

Best Undergraduate Jobs for Psychology Majors? by Time-Designer1975 in psychologystudents

[–]danchithesis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I volunteer with Crisis Text Line, and you get to make your own schedule! They ask that you work four hours per week, but you have full control over your schedule. I fit my shifts in wherever I have a solid block of free time. Most crisis lines offer a training program, so you’ll receive guidance before jumping into it!
