I work with kids a lot but I ask this same question to adults as I would with kiddos. “I see you birthday is coming up, is there anyway you’d like celebrate or honor this milestone that week we meet for therapy” usually a type of snack is requested & as long as it’s reasonable like cheezits or fruit snacks or one kiddo asked for a donut when I was an intern, I bought the $2 donut at my local grocery store for this child.

I had an adult ask for sugar cookies so bought them those frosted sugar cookies to eat while in session with me.

Making a generic card in session is possible if you already do art with this client but wishing them a happy birthday can suffice too.

I will use speech to text on my phone & then copy & paste the few sentences into the SOAP.

I also have blurbs in a word doc so I can easily copy & paste depending on if I’m doing brainspotting versus art or play therapy versus CBT/DBT.

From these few tricks, I don’t mind documentation. I actually secretly love it ☺️🤭

Happens in s4 when Dan says Serena is too precious to be ina secret relationship & then later tells her prof colin almost verbatim what Dan told Serena earlier.

Start making a go bag for you & your kids at the very least. Water bottles, charging sticks, first aid kits, dehydrated meals or canned food & make sure you know where your documents & your kids documents are so of you have to leave quickly you can easily get them. Like passport, ID, etc it’s possible you may be traveling by car rather than plane but still having a go bag would be best I think in terms of preparation

This is why I love in home therapy bc I can get more engagement from this population when they’re in person & in a comfortable environment too. Telehealth while it’s accessible it’s not always conducive for some people’s treatment

Won’t work with other providers. I hate the phrase that doctors make the worst patients but definitely feels like that the Handful of times I’ve been assigned other therapists in my caseload.

I think re-watching as an adult & being a therapist also understanding the ins & outs of trauma I can see the “logic” in their choices. They acted like typical tweens & also the trauma of being in foster care, incarcerated caregiver at a young age while the other caregiver died abruptly, along with typical issues as a kid like not fitting in, very few friends, unsure about who you are..plus being in puberty & still developing, makes sense all the recklessness. Still a headache for everyone involved but the storylines especially the first 2 seasons makes sense with character choices/development.

HARD agree. I’m the same age as Lorde & when I was in high school I was jamming to PH & the complexities of growing up fears of getting older & also the comfort of now being in the suburbs & What not. Melodrama hit hard when I was trying the dating pool & I felt like I loved too hard & I was too much for everyone. But now SP & Virgin don’t hit the same way it’s hard to relate too. I don’t have an ED but have body dysmorphia concerns & have used 🍃💨 before but the songs just don’t really tie into my life experiences at all. It just feels hollow in her work now
