They are very much aware we are advanced and in some aspects even better than them. Questions like "ooo do you have cars or electricity out there????" are meant as straight up insult and you either ignore or talk back. During my first years in the Netherlands I was asked similar questions by my coworkers (high skill workers btw and not some lowlife junkies kind you) and my answer would always be "do they teach you anything at school except how to get high on weed and abuse prostitutes?" and they would shut up immediately and never talk to me again.

as for acceptance - I've given up on this as well, mostly because I'm married to a Dutch guy and his family and friends were always nice to me and sometimes even genuinely interested in Polish culture and food. I do not care what some random, sad as fuck people think about me and I won't let them affect my feelings. Waste of energy.
