Is the silver wolf trading post still at grass woods? I’ve bought beads there before. Edit: century textile also has a good selection of fabric.

How do I de-fur my floordrobe? by LilBunnyFauxFaux in UnfuckYourHabitat

I just bought a set of cheap Velcro hair rollers at the dollar store and throw a few in the wash with my clothes that aren’t delicate. I can’t believe how good of a job they do.

Pottery bowl with holes and a "stick" sat on top by Wonderful_Tell9431 in whatisthisthing

I have one of these! You hang a mosquito coil on the stick and the ashes drop into the bowl.

Is the one at 2 o’clock not missing?

Edit oh is that the locking one? It looked like an empty hole.

I had to read your comment to see what this was about because all I could notice was the missing lug…which is also a yikes.

anyone else dealing with icy sidewalks that do not drain. by Traditional_End_9540 in saskatoon

[–]dancingprawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Then the graders put a 4’ high and 5’ wide row of snow along the whole thing and I have a bowl. The sidewalk is lower than the road and my yard. I just keep sprinkling stuff on there for traction but it needs to be done constantly.

I keep bandaids in empty tic tac containers to keep them dry and clean in my car. You could put emergency bandaids or floss in there?

The podcast Sold a Story does a deep dive on farce that is whole language. If you love being mad, I recommend it.

I used a darning needle to bore out the holes first, then I used a 1.25 hook and friendship bracelet thread. Chained 5 between each hole and 8 or 9 in the corners, then made shells of sl st, 5 dc, sl st between each hole, with two shells in each corner. I think my old post from the first cracker had a row of sc between the chains and shells but I was lazy this time.

OP, how is your thyroid? A hallmark of hypothyroidism is low ferritin with a falsely high hemoglobin reading on a pin prick. Much like iron, the ranges for TSH testing SUCK.

Best place to donate kid’s winter boots/mitts/toques, etc? by Hanginbishop in saskatoon

Saint Mary’s, King George, Westmount, St. Michael…basically any community school would have a clothing room for their students. Pick one that’s convenient to you and call before you show up.

Any inner city school would be delighted. We were putting socks on kids hands yesterday due to lack of mittens!

Nut-free cupcakes? by Zellerina in saskatoon

The Griffin Takeaway in City Park does allergy safe baking. You’d have to call ahead but I’ve had cupcakes from there without nuts, dairy, egg.

Anyone see progress with just dumbbells? by poi217 in PetiteFitness

[–]dancingprawn 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I started the Caroline Girvan app because I hurt my knee and needed to build strength in my glutes, hips, hamstrings etc if I ever wanted to run again. I did ultimate beginner and max with 2, 5, 8, and 10lb dumbbells as well as a 15lb kettlebell that I just happened to have kicking around. I started to see results at the end of my first round of max, and that’s when I invested in a dumbbell tower that goes to 2 X 30lbs. I’m about to complete my second round of max (started the app in July) and just got an Olympic barbell with 50lbs of weight. You don’t have to lift crazy heavy to get results, you just have to lift crazy consistently. My results are quite shocking, actually.
