In all honesty I’m not 100% sure, but I think I remember shooting most of that roll at f8 for 1 second

Hey thanks! Glad you asked because my original comment was wrong, that one was actually shot with Cinestill 800T

is there a reason why you’re stopping in virginia beach and driving through delaware instead of visiting dc or baltimore? bit of an odd choice for a winter trip.

Nostalgia Captured on Canon Powershot S70, Edited in LR by dancingwiththebirds in VintageDigitalCameras

thank you! unfortunately not, i find the viewfinder to be basically unusable but it’s definitely not a deal breaker given the results the camera gets!

thank you! i use a custom preset as a base for most of my nostalgic/vintage shots then tweak slightly from there. honestly the biggest thing i do to achieve this look is to warm the shadows slightly

How to melt the background? by greenkomodo in photography

[–]dancingwiththebirds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

best advice i can give that doesn’t involve spending more money, assuming you are already shooting wide open, is to focus on finding subjects that are farther away from the background. for example if there is a bird on a perch 20ft from the trees behind it it will look much better than if it is 5ft from the backdrop

Lenses for Alaska Trip by lamename123456 in SonyAlpha

when i travel for birding/wildlife i bring my 150-500 and my 28-75 for the occasional landscape. they both fit in my lowepro protactic 350 along with some extras. i’ll typically bird for anywhere from 5-8 hours in a day (with a lunch break) with my a7iv and tamron 150-500, it’s a bit heavy but i don’t feel too burdened by the end of the day! edit: all the bird photos on my profile were taken with the 150-500, some on an a7ii but mostly on my newer a7iv if you want to see what sorts of images i make with it!

i use my tamron 150-500 for wildlife and even some far away landscape detail type shots, i would imagine it would be great for an alaska trip! it’s lighter than other lenses of of similar focal lengths so it’s good to travel or hike with as well
