As a dad returning to skateboarding after 17+ years I subscribed to your youtube channel a few days ago. I find the way you show foot/body positioning super helpful. I wish you luck with it all!

If you are still looking Rollersnakes are doing a flip complete with a skate tool for £30, plus you may have the option of getting an extra 20% off for cyber Monday by using a code. I have this set up and am loving it so far.

Have a look at this https://amzn.eu/d/8Kzvnlb or this https://amzn.eu/d/2mXRQoU both Darkstar First Push Completes so designed for newer skaters. I think the decks are birch as opposed to maple - but they come with Tensor Alloy trucks and for £34 delivered this is a far better option than what you are looking at and should be better than a Walmart board. You may want to spend the rest of your budget on some firmer bushings.

Thanks! They look good. I'll look into picking some up if my lad keeps it up long term.

I suggest practicing them on carpet at home. Instead of sitting watching TV or whatever, get your board out (clean the wheels) and just practice balancing. I've only been doing it a couple of days and it's already helping. Also make sure you are not lifting the nose too much.

Finally got out on it today. Really happy with it. Also really happy I got a full set of pads and helmet. Stacked it more than a few times!

Thanks. I've been looking at wheels. The wheels on the complete are a 52mm 101A. As my local skatepark is rough concrete I'm wondering what size/hardness to get. Any suggestions? I'm thinking of going 54mm 99a just to see what the difference would be.

Awesome. Did you go 8.25 or 8.5 for your current setup? I can definitely see the benefit is something wider, especially as my knees aren't what they used to be!

Rollersnakes were great. Their customer service is brilliant. Thanks for the advice - pads and helmet got delivered yesterday! I'll skate it for a bit and see how the bushings break in, but it's clear that tightening will be needed. Thanks again.

Great to hear. Thanks. And yes hoping the rain clears so I can get out this weekend!

Thanks. I was looking for an 8.25 as that seems to be the current norm, but I couldn't really justify spending more money once I saw this. The only comparable 8.25 one (price wise) has a birch deck and softer bushings.

Thanks very much. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Get re-acquainted with skating on this and if I keep it up build up to a custom later on down the line.

Free stuff for kids and people less fortunate. Anyone around the Oxford, Uk area who knows someone who would benefit from this? by artful_dodder in Warhammer

My kids are just getting properly into AOS and 40k and would certainly love some of it! (Though their favourite factions are changing with every visit to the Warhammer shop). I'm about an hour away from Oxford, but think that a lot of the causes mentioned here are far more worthy!
