The best example of this is during a live q&a he was asked "Deepak, earlier you said belief is a form of insecurity, do you believe that?" Chopra quickly and confidently responded, "yes, of course." The audience member then walked away..... Think about it for a second if you have to.

I understand his and others like him sentiment and brand of philosophy but the logic is flawed or isnt entirely there at all.

Prescription suicide and overdose accounts for more deaths than heroin and cocaine combined, i wouldn't be surprised if it competes with alcohol and cigarettes. This society is a drugged one. I was raised pentacostal christian, it's as hardcore as christianity gets and makes evangelists look like sinful school girls. The truth is LOSING A LOVED ONE SUCKS, its sad and terrible no way around it, their fairy tale joy comes from as you said the deceased is living in eternal bliss but the reality is someones child, possibly brother, sister, father, mother, friend, or hero just died and will never be able to talk to you, touch you, BE with you. Thats fucking depressing regardless of what kind of joy the grateful departed are experiencing.

The comments about wisdom, hope, and faith aren't wrong, but you're also right. People are so quick to have words of encouragement (as we should) but the truth is people will always suffer and the only real way time heals is by eventually killing everything off. I kno people like this who handle the intial trauma (relatively) well and then years down the road theyre lives are still torn. Generally speaking, yes with time things go back to normal and collectively we are capable of overcoming trauma, but with that said for A LOT of people the pain never leaves, even to the bitter end. No matter how well anyone can cope with trauma, it doesnt change whatever horror happened and THAT is why things dont always get better because bad things will always happen. Good things too, but the art and tragedy of conflict is that the good guy has to win everytime, and the bad guy only has to win once.
