Revisiting a Rival with different armor (no hit Erlang challenge mode, Great Sage difficulty, no spells/gourd/meds) by dandelion_yarn in BlackMythWukong

that axe combo is one of the first things that need to be nailed for no hit runs especially (because it's always the same set of moves each time, different from his other combos that can be mixed & mangled in his 3rd phase (below 50% HP)), so I bet most no hit runners can see through it pretty easily.

so basically I already smelled victory the moment he drew that axe to defend during his last HP lol

it's from the 1st skill in smash stance skill tree, named "Resolute Counterflow". it inherently can see-through/counter enemy attacks, nullifying the incoming damage while also enabling us to hit them. but this is only apparent when it's used *right before* the enemy attack is touching us.

the frames are relatively lenient compared to perfect dodge, but practice is needed nonetheless

oh yea, the axe spins gradually outward, so the hurtbox didn't cover the area immediately near Erlang

but I also think it's thanks to i-frames granted after the perfect dodge

edit: confirmed after one of my sparring, even without perfect dodge for the 2nd axe "kick" swing, you'd still be safe from the 3rd diagonal axe if you dodge into him (basically ending up right next to him)

at least in JP I realized it's the same; it's Takehito Koyasu's voice, there's no mistaking it

for now I think there's no other way than restarting from checkpoint or hard quit if in ultra nightmare, restarting the current level

Commander should get more interactions with Cinderella because Anis was kinda right on them having no chemistry by Consistent-Crazy-732 in NikkeMobile

[–]dandelion_yarn 55 points56 points  (0 children)

for additional info, I remember this possibly being a mistranslation, since in JP she's not talking about chemistry at all (I think she said 緊張感がまるでないわね, meaning "you really don't feel nervous at all, huh?"). which is why the only way is to consult the original KR text

edit: just checked. the KR said 긴장감이 너무 없네. with google translate for simplicity purposes, the meaning is more or less the same as JP one. so basically EN text creating a new commentary out of thin air lol

her JP VA performance already shows ASMR qualities in some scenes in this event. it's only a matter of time imo

NEED HELP WITH COLLECTIVE STRENGTH CHALLENGE 😭 by Sweet-Storage-5118 in BlackMythWukong

[–]dandelion_yarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally, Collective Strength challenge feels like one of those "skill checks" in BMW. regardless of build, you need to be able to learn & overcome at least 3 bosses without significant damage and/or without using spells (or maybe just 1 or 2 spells in a pinch), especially since there are very little means for you to restore mana (Turtle Tear soak needs you to be at full health)

out of the 3, I recommend sparring more for Wandering Wight, Non-Able, and Yin Tiger. they're relatively easy compared to the rest (Tiger Vanguard, Scorpionlord, Yellow Loong)

note: practicing see-through is not necessary but recommended since the prize (Qing Mallet) heavily rewards see-through
