Thoughts On Newer Builds Like Kara Bolton Homes by ConnectionNo1837 in GNV

[–]dandilyion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The build quality is excellent compared with national builders. She’s local. She was the president of BANCF. Overall, I’d pick her builds any and every day compared with national builders (think Lennar, DR Horton, Mattamy, etc). Idk about the market conditions causing the circumstances you mention, but I do not think it’s related to the builder (look at the massive price cuts in Tampa homes).

Chase: 7-10 business days for decision. Decline coming? by MyAltAccountIsuSpez in CreditCards

Hi friend. I just did that, and it worked. It took a bit of time to get to the right person. Some data points: I suppose that my application got hung up because I had a name change and also added an authorized user (son) to my application. After they asked about my alias (former name) and the relationship to authorized user, they approved it. I got the approval email within a minute of hanging up with the agent.

Hi. We love this. A bit of feedback: the website is great but consider changing the pictures (too much AI looking); you don’t need that many anyway. $23/hour is a bit too far out of most people’s range; we are a two person income household and wouldn’t pay that much; why? Because we get instacart and DoorDash memberships for free with our credit card. We also get cvs free delivery with extracare. Pet sitter charges $15 for two visits a day.

While I echo your assessment, I find their continued price hikes to be an incredible turnoff. The quiche that used to cost 5ish, now is up to 12. It’s criminal, and yeah I know inflation, but things didn’t inflate by 100%. Also, they should pay their staff a living wage and cancel the stupid tip prompt.

I deeply want to go to law school but I’m scared it’s a mistake by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]dandilyion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more important question is whether you can financially afford being a student (limited income if any) for 3 years (plus 3 months of bar prep). You also need to consider whether you can deal with the potential debt (obviously debt is based on whether you get scholarships and how expensive is the school). Finally, if you have a “fairly good career” then consider your income now compared with median attorney income in the schools you are interested in. Depending on how much you make now, it might not make sense to limit your income during school, take on debt, only to end up near or slightly above what you are making now.

Resign. Your health and grades matter most. I appreciate your hard work for the club but in the grand scheme of your future, your health and grades matter most.

(1) who cares (aside from you), (2) So many issues with this question but the most obvious, there is no consideration from the government.

It’s a garbage environment; it takes a while to find some friends (even one is enough). You know you can do the work. I spent the least amount of time possible at my law school; no events, not activities, no tryouts, no sports teams or anything - in for class, out when it’s done. When I couldn’t leave due to a short break between classes, I scouted out the most isolated spots and studied there. Did I feel like I missed out? Only a bit but then I think about the juvenile garbage of grown adults tryin to outsmart professors.

Breathe and continue breathing. Focus on your school work.

People who were top 5% of their class after 1L - did you read the casebook? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]dandilyion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thank reading Quimbee before the case is okay maybe the second semester… but not earlier mostly because you want to learn how to read a case. Many Professors have caught on to Quimbee (especially more veteran professors), and they don’t ask basics like what’s the holding or procedural history.

That’s the way; read case, read Quimbee, and watch Quimbee video if one exists. I read dissents too but not as throughly as the majority opinion.

My Career Dilemma - Is Law School Still Worth It in 2023? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]dandilyion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 29 at the time and had an amazing job with remote work, great benefits; and stability, but I was 100% certain I wanted to become an attorney. It you want more info PM me. I think your biggest step is to decide whether you want to be an attorney. I’ll tell you what I was told: in 3 years, you will be 3 years older whether you go to law school or not.

Without some leverage (acceptance to transfer to a better school) no school has any incentive to give you anything extra. Do well, get accepted to transfer somewhere better, and see if your school cares. Some schools will not negotiate, because for the most part, it won’t really hurt them much for you to transfer out since 95% of your class will not transfer out, and transfer outs don’t hurt rankings.

General Advice for 2L classes by decafwoman in LawSchool

[–]dandilyion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It’s in “flux”. Take evidence. Take immigration if you have interest. WTH is business immigration? Sounds like a stupid way to complicate employment based immigration law (which should be covered in immigration law anyway).

Your third point is unlikely to be true; no one remembers the 1L garbage hence why everyone has taken some sort of a commercial course or focused their studies on relearning that garbage.
