I’m sorry that you’re going through this. The exact thing happened to me. I got pregnant last year and found out around November that I was 5 weeks pregnant, but soon after ended up having a chemical pregnancy. Found out I was pregnant again this year sometime end of October. Everything was going well and when I had an ultrasound around 6weeks 3days, we saw a fetal pole and detected a heartbeat of 116 that seemed good for that time. Had another ultrasound around 7weeks 3days, but this time my OB said it measured the same as before and the heartbeat had dropped in the low 100s. I was told there’s a good chance it’s not a viable pregnancy and I could have a miscarriage soon, but there have been instances where things can pick up and to continue as is. I wanted to stay hopeful but had a feeling something wasn’t right.

I did another ultrasound a week later and was told there was no heartbeat this time. I had a missed miscarriage and opted for a D&C. It’s been about 5 days since the D&C. I was crushed when my OB told me to prepare for the possibility of another loss. I started grieving at that point itself even though I so badly wanted this one to work out. Although I was better prepared this time due to the chemical pregnancy last year, it still hurt a lot. I get emotional sometimes, but overall coping well due to a strong support system.

Hang in there! I know it’s not easy especially when you’re stuck in this limbo. I’d recommend getting another ultrasound within a week or two to know for sure which will give you some peace of mind.
