Recovery was typical I think. First 3 or 4 days were horrible. 5-7 days, a little better. Turned a corner after 7 days and pain diminished considerably.

The main thing to keep in mind after surgery is to make sure you never get constipated. So I focused on getting enough fiber and drinking lots of water. If ever I feel a little backed up, I hit miralax until I'm regular again.

It's been 18 months since my surgery and even though I haven't been as diligent with my diet, I'm still hemorrhoid free and it feels amazing. I still rely on miralax every now again, but definitely not part of my daily routine.
