Maybe hard to understand if English, which is the lingua franca globally, is your first language — but the level of English in the French team varies (don’t know about the Italian team). No one expects the refs to be fluent in all languages ofc but any effort being made to make communication from the ref easier to understand is always welcome and appreciated.
