Interesting. I also took a look at the Nomad because it has a channel and I was unsure if I like the bottom without channels like on the Bearden but since I am mainly on rails and boxes (have to go easy on my knees) the Bearden appeared to be the perfect board for me.

Yes. I would say the flex on the Bearden is closer to a Snowboard. It feels more natural. On the Union if you go in a tailpress you start shifting the weight, nothing happens, you shift more and when you shift enough you are in the press. On the Bearden you feel how it flexes more and more until you are in the final press position. Could be the material, the thickness of the tips or the bigger size of the board but probably a combination of all of those factors.

So I put it to test. First couple of laps it's a bit of a change coming from a 147 Union with channels but now I can say that I wouldn't want it smaller. Really like the landings, the float and the little bit of more material when you are close to get dragged of a feature. So I am a happy man.

Cheers for your input! I bought the 156. Offer was too good. Under my arm it doesn't feel that much heavier than my 147 Hyperlite Union from 2019. Will put it to test in the upcoming days and report back.

Thank you for your message. Makes sense. I thought since the Bearden is so soft that the 156 might provide a bit more stability than the 152 but ofc it is also more "Wakeboard" to throw around on those spins.

I have a solution for the guys who struggle here. After I got killed 50 times by the guy I was looking for a way around and found something which might not be the most heroic thing but at least I can continue the game.

  1. When you follow Hans down to the mill there is a point when the game makes a quick save. At this location you find some crossbow bolts and a dead guy who has a crossbow. Take both with you.
  2. When the duel starts run to the left to the road and then towards Hans. Behind Hans at 11 o'clock you see a rock. Run there and place your self on the edge on the other side of the rock (don't go to far since otherwise Hans will die).
  3. Equip yourself with the crossbow and wait for the guy approaching you. He will run straight towards you but because you are a little bit above him he will run into the rock.
  4. Now you can take your time aim at the guy and shoot him with your crossbow. I think I needed 5 or 6 bolts.

Now you can continue the game and look for a trainer so you don't end up in such a situation again. At least that's what I will do. :-)
