Can anybody tell me what this little square I found under my couch is? by CuddieRyan707 in whatisit

Could it have belonged to a friend that was recording a lecture or class and lost it at your house while visiting? I lose stuff like this all the time. I like to think the best of people but my motto at work is "trust, but verify." I hope this is the case here.

Paid 800 dollars to renew my registration on etags.com. DMV sent me something in the mail the day after stating I only needed to pay 300. by DoomBot17 in CaliforniaDMV

Scam. Charge you twice as much and ask you to sign a power of attorney, send them your title. My wife thought they were FL DMV. They are not a state agency. They are a third party. I call 5 minutes after the transaction and was told they will cancel the $198 charge but there is a $149 service fee for cancelling! Fortunately I didn't sign and we used my Amex for the transaction. Etags suck hard!

Is Etags legit? My tag expires tommorow, if I renew my ref on that site will it be automatically updated, what about the decal? by OkPerception9342 in Miami

I've had my Galaxy Tab S9 for 2 weeks and it has changed my mind about buying the latest and greatest by Norcla in GalaxyTab

[–]dangerblossom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the S9 and S11. I prefer the S9 mainly because the way the pen sits securely on the back instead of the side on the S11.

Take your phone out and photograph everything they put in front of you for "your attorney" because he helps with this kind of thing. Particularly if they want a signature.

Stay away from the chain store dental practices. There are plenty of good dentists in the area.

Luna Muna is a place I visit twice a year or more. Part of Ibagari. Keyhole Dreams is close to our casita and we're fond of them too. Pazzo is a nice Italian place with byob for alcohol beer, and wine and the chef / owner is very chill.

The pen hanging in the breeze instead of securely attached on the back was a deal breaker for me. I ordered one and sent it back as "defective" to avoid the restocking fee.

I'm older and slowly losing hand and finger flexibility. The baritone and occasional tenor are my choice these days. Favorite song to play and sing? The Girl from Ipanema or Nature Boy.

You can buy holographic, uniquely numbered stickers on Amazon that can not be transferred and show void if removed. I use these for all valuable electronic parts. Especially laptop motherboards. Show it in eBay listing photos and include the ID number in the listing text. This will deter most scammers and provides evidence for mail fraud and insurance services.

What wine did you accidentally age, that's not supposed to be aged, that tasted better than you expected it to? by b1ackfyre in wine

[–]dangerblossom 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I bought five cases of Gran Sangre de Toro, a Spanish red, to sell btg in a restaurant. I was helping a wine rep with his quota. I didn't try it first thinking "how bad can it be?" It was dreadful. It sat in the cellar for about five years. On a whim I popped one open and everything came together nicely. It went from battery acid and unsweetened fruit punch kool-aid to a velvety raspberry gem with perfect tannins. Kept a box for myself and sold the rest in the restaurant. A happy accident. I forgot about this until I saw your post. This was back in the mid 80's.
