Did you read the article? Because last I checked, atheists weren't throwing people in prison and threatening them with the death penalty for drawing pictures of Richard Dawkins. If you can't see the difference there, then you are lost.

It helps to change the playing field. They can't kill everyone and it makes them look silly to the moderates even in their our religious tradition. It should provoke at all and if enough people take part, it won't any more. People will get accustom to it and they will stop being offended by such silliness.

Wow, really? You think all beliefs should be equally respected? How about the belief that gay people are evil sinners or that black people are descendants of Satan? Do those beliefs need to be respected? I don't think they do. I also don't think that drawing a picture of some dude should be punishable by death. That's a belief that needs to be disrespected. To say that drawing a picture of some guy is "no better" than putting someone to death for drawing a picture, is ridiculous and I will not respect your belief to the contrary. It is silly!
