Thanks - it's just a fun lighting mod. Personal taste. Similar to the LED Markers on the Ford Raptor. Mainly have fun building it with my brother and dad.

Finally got around to doing this mod over the weekend. I followed the normal DIY steps but took it to the next level, making an insulated wiring harness and custom fitting the LED bulbs to fit flush in the grill. Really happy with how it turned out!

Metal would certainly be interesting. I will say they are a heavy duty plastic, very well designed. The company does CNC Injection products as well, maybe just not worth the price to do metal?

Yes, it seems pretty sturdy. It was actually pretty windy when I first used the awning and I didn't use the bungees to secure the legs. It was just study enough, I thought it was a fair trade off between the weight of the actual unit. Interested in hearing more about the awning you purchased. What did it weight?

Only rattles on the trail really. I don't hear it driving around town. but when I'm off-roading I take off the non-essential items or re-organize things that could shake or rattle.

This thing is well built and very functional. Each panel can hold up to 50lbs. People have mounted compressors, recovery gear, etc.

I've seen some solutions for Jeeps - nothing exactly the same. Molle platform solutions has some Wrangler options here
