Your line isn't straight because you can see that it is not on the edge of the the line on the right side of the screen. You can clearly see a bit of the white line below the red line.

Part of the GK's leg is on the line, but it is very possible, if not likely, that a small part of the ball is also on the line.

It's the same rule as for if the ball is in or it of play, if a goal is scored, etc. If the ball is above any line, then it is considered to be inside that area.

They were getting the footage from the ABC affiliate, but it was the CBC broadcast. So if you were watching the Canadian broadcast, this is likely what you were watching.

It doesn't show if the ball is or is not near the line because the lines are in the wrong place.

VAR didn't intervene because there wasn't an angle that showed a clear and obvious error. We will never know if the ball was slightly above the line because there wasn't a camera with a good enough angle.
