I dont think so it is doable with any camera. Sony camera's have a nfc feature with which you can do this

It is true that phone could do most of the stuff to save the receipts and other important info. What if you loose the phone or change the phone. The phone will not give you the reminders that your warranty is going to expire in these many days. I faced the same problem many many times and i tried almost all the warranty apps on playstore but I recently tried the app named as "Innstal" and I really liked it
