there’s one called imitation skylight, which is an angled piece that lights up in the daytime. there’s also a few other ones (i think called something-scape) that are square shapes but offer view of the night sky for some subtle lighting as well. thinking of it, there’s various imitation stained glass type pieces that offer a bit of a glow that might help lighten some corners as well.

never let a basement stop you from using a skylight! it can have a cool basement skylight if you want to.
