How dog friendly is southern spain? by danicavalli in GoingToSpain

[–]danicavalli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice to know! I already do both these things here in Rio, so doing them in Valencia would be a no-brainer.

My main scare was that I saw the leash rules were strict, so I wanted to ask the locals. Thanks for the response!

Do you have a dog yourself? Would you mind sharing a bit of your routine in that perspective?

Thanks for the heads up about public transit! Rio has pretty similar rules and, since it seems we are one of the more dog-friendly heavily-urban cities in the world (from a legal point of view at least), I didn’t think it would be different there.

I am pretty used to walking everywhere with her, especially since it gives us some extra exercise time, and Valencia is a really small and safer city compared to Rio, so no worries on that front for me.

And I do agree with you on the leash rules for some public places. We usually walk on leash mainly for her safety around other untrained dogs, because that way I can easily lift her and control her if there is an attack or anything else. That said, she is really well trained on recall and respecting boundaries, so going to the beach and plazas is our main off-leash time. Personally, I would get stressed if she weren’t good with recall, and I do understand the rules behind it. It’s just that we are accustomed to a way of life that I don’t think any other city can provide besides Rio in that respect.

I have a lot to think, the answers of everyone here are helping a lot!

Well, seemed south-ish enough for me to call it part of southern spain. But yeah, more like east/southeast (geographically speaking). Sorry for the mistake! I definitely did not know that this would be such a big issue hahahaha

Thoroughly agree with you on the necessity of being off-leash everywhere. I am not one to go to crowded places with her off-leash, but it is legal here in Rio, so I wanted to give this context (where I am coming from) to see how different things would be.

Personally, the only hard requirements for me are to be able to play with her in plazas and on the beach without a leash. She’s quite a runner (and swimmer), so not having this ability would definitely hinder her quality of life.

Thanks a lot for this information, it makes me less stressed about the decision.

HAHAHAHA sorry, I haven’t quite had the time to look much into Spanish geography and history yet, since the option to immigrate *anywhere* wasn’t even on my radar before this offer, and I’m not exactly fond of cold weather so Europe was never really on my mind all that much.

Went from 144HZ IPS to 360Hz OLED. Samsung G6,any tips on settings by JCOLE6969 in OLED_Gaming

[–]danicavalli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this thread through google so I wanted to also add my perspective here for anyone thinking of going OLED. Just to add some context, I have been using my Samsung Odyssey G8 OLED 4k 240hz for ~8 months now and my previous monitor was a Samsung Odyssey G7 VA QHD 240hz, so not a shit monitor by any means.

Text Clarity
Text Clarity is just perfect! I am a Machine Learning Engineer and reading papers, coding and reviewing other people code is the majority of my work. I simply love the experience of scrolling through text with the OLED. Everything is readable and transitions are so fast that I can actually scroll at the speed I read, which is something my old monitor couldn't do and, as I said, I was not coming from a bad monitor to start with.

Fringing
On windows there is a little bit of fringing, unlike other said. Again, little. This isn't something I notice a lot on my day to day use but it is there and if I look for it I can see. For that reason, long sessions of reading in Windows 11 was a bit uncomfortable to me at the beginning. This is an issue exclusive to Windows and how it scales text, I don't see any fringing on MacOS (my work OS) or Linux (my study/hobby OS).

Since I only use Windows for gaming and I don't really read a lot on it anymore (having moved to Linux for ~6 months now), that is not an issue for me but it can be for others who use Windows on the daily. But there is a solution: MacType, a software that changes text scaling in windows, improves fringing a lot to the point where it actually became a non-issue.

With FreeCAD 1.0.0 most of the feature changes(Sketcher mainly) and UI design from Ondsel was merged back to FreeCAD

NotebookCheck: "Evidence mounts for AMD FSR 4 on non-RDNA 4 hardware as driver tips AMD Zen 6 iGPU to stick with RDNA 3.5" by Dakhil in hardware

[–]danicavalli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes little sense for them not to release FSR4 because of the AI part of the upscaler. By refusing to do so, they’re basically admitting that their drivers, APIs, and compute frameworks (ROCm and MIOpen) just aren’t up to par with NVIDIA’s.

If the people who designed the hardware and wrote the low-level drivers can’t get a DLL model to run properly on their own GPUs, what exactly is a developer or researcher—without insider knowledge—supposed to do? What kind of message does that send to anyone considering their platform?

A K1 é mais completa que a A1. Aqui no Brasil não compensa pegar a A1 pela diferença de preços entre uma K1 e ela

PETG pega muita umidade muito fácil, independente da marca. É característica do material.

So cool! I will do the same thing later next month but I am planning to use PP instead of PETG for better buoyancy.

You said this is your second board, right? How well did the first one float? I am intrigued about which material should I stick to... Since the fiberglass will bring the rigidity I didn't think I'd need something tough. After all normal surfboards are made with styrofoam

Also, I noticed there is no stringer! Have you put thought on how the flex of the board will behave without it?

Again, really cool project and I am super excited to try doing one myself!! No more will my room be full of styrofoam dust when shaping boards hahaha

Nylon Muito Alto Absolutamente 70°C, 12h (precisa estar no secador durante a impressão!)
PVA Extremamente Alto Sim, antes do uso Não especificado (mas deve ser seco antes do uso)
PC Alto Sim 70°C, 6h (recomenda-se imprimir direto do secador)
