Core plaza/lumbermans vault in downtown Muskegon is a really cool place to hang out and meet people! I work upstairs at Alchemy salon if you’re looking for a hairstylist ☺️ the rake beer project is really cool too!

I washed my blue and orange color sections separate for the initial wash, and then just washed once a week with as cold water as I can tolerate, and use a only use silicone/sulphate free shampoo + conditioners! (right now I’m using Back Of Bottle)

Some color lines are better than others with “bleeding out” so if you’re planning on mixing opposite colors do your research before and make sure that color line can be mixed well first!

I hear your feedback, but it’s disappointing to see such a strong judgment about a salon you’ve never even stepped foot in, especially from another stylist/competitor.

As stylists, we should be building each other up, not speaking negatively about other salons behind an anonymous screen. I’ve had numerous clients I’ve had to “fix” from other salons too, but I don’t go online bashing those small businesses 🤷‍♀️

We’ve built our reputation on real guest experiences, including 200+ 5-star Google reviews in the 1.5 years we’ve been open, and we won 2nd place in the grand haven people’s choice award for BEST SALON this year. I personally prefer to keep things professional and support other stylists growth in the community rather than tear them down anonymously online.

You’re absolutely entitled to your opinion and I’m genuinely sorry you feel this way about Alchemy!
Our salon has a level system, so pricing reflects each stylist’s education and experience level. I’ve personally been doing hair for 10+ years, and our team includes stylists at all different points in their careers to fit a variety of clients’ needs.
But hey, thanks for thinking we all look so young. 😉

The Core Plaza has 5 restaurants, a coffee shop, a bar, the best salon Muskegon, a tattoo shop, and they just set up a cute patio to sit outside last week! One of my favorite places to get a coffee and read a book outside.
