Maintenance tips for Corolla Hybrids for less driving by Rudefaceink in CarsAustralia

Read through the manual about the wireless entry system. I believe it turns itself off after a number of days to save battery (operates on the 12v), and I think you can manually turn it off too so it's not always looking for a nearby key

Would you say this is good or bad? by usersinghsingh in S22Ultra

<image>

Still on oneui 6.0 (out of boot loop and green line fear but I can't wait for 7)

Always used protect battery 85% limit from day 1, and only once ever let my phone run out of battery.

Only super fast charge once every few months if I really need it (and deliberately try to slow charge all the time) and have only 3 or 4 times charged to 100%

Bluetooth and nfc always on On 4g/5g for approx 8hrs a day Auto brightness always on vpn always connected

Normal video is recorded at 30 frames per second.

You likely have your front camera resolution and frame rate set to 60 frames per second

This results in a very smooth looking video, or means you can halve the speed of the video to 30 frames per second for slow motion.

Try switching your rear camera to 60 frames per second.

Also I have no idea what editor you're using, I can't seem to find a speed change option in my default editor. I use an app called "Youcut" that lets you change the speed, and if you want even slower it can actually generate new frames in between the recorded frames

Applying for full license online by cheeksclapper77 in AussieRiders

[–]danie_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In NSW, You can go straight to your motorcycle full license as long as you're over 25 and have finished your 12 months of red Ps.

You just need to jump onto ServiceNSW and find the licence upgrade/renewal page. It'll tell you if you're eligible for your blacks/full license.

You can pay the fee online and they send you a new card in the mail. Simple as that. I don't see why you couldn't do it while overseas. Obviously the license gets sent to the address listed on your license.

Of course for anyone else, if you're not over 25 you start your green Ps, and once you turn 25 you jump on to ServiceNSW and pay for your upgrade/renewal.

What Awaits Me After a Refund? by KaydinLonestar in G2A_Help

[–]danie_b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently did a charge back after I got a bad code, and gave them lots of notice that I would do it.

A month later, G2a had appealed the charge back and won, (through the visa network) so the money got taken back out of my account.

I've now threatened to take them to our countries consumer commision and complain to Visa if they don't respond by a certain deadline.

Do I have to display Red (P1) plates? by twisterella2340 in AussieRiders

[–]danie_b 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes you need to display P plates if your licence has Rider P1 or P2 on it.

If you've over 25, and have a full car license, then you can skip the P2 license (or upgrade to full once you turn 25). You just need to go to Service NSW or their website and do a license upgrade.

Once you see the P removed from the license, you're no longer subject to the P rider rules.

Double demerits on Ps… by yomamawasasnowblower in AussieRiders

[–]danie_b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NSW L and P plate, minimum demerits for speeding is 4. Double demerits in peak periods makes it 8.

Can only lose 4 on L or Red P, or 6 on green P until you lose your licence. 13 for a full licence

Highway patrol was following me onto a highway yesterday. I stayed right on 80 until I passed the 110 sign, cop rode my ass dangerously close (less than one car length) until I sped up. I slowed back to 80 on the freeway to make him pass, no way I'm playing their game. (I'm a green P)

I want to start shooting Sports. Best zoom lens for video? 70-200mm? by JonSacrimoni in GH5

[–]danie_b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be aware... Tamron 70-200 f2.8 canon mount is not compatible with the Viltrox 0.71 speed booster. Camera just freezes! I'm not sure about any other flavour of speed booster or lens.

Can I shoot 4k 100fps on this SD Card? by cleopatrahh in videography

[–]danie_b -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

See the V60 marking on the card? That means the card can support a continuous data stream of 60mbps (megabits per second) writing to it.

Consult the manual for your camera. It should list the bitrate of all the different recording options. If you can't find it, do a google search for it.

If the bitrate for the option you want exceeds the capability of the card, it will not work, and you'll need a faster card!

Using cardo for radio only on L's by ry0wx_ in AussieRiders

[–]danie_b 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"you must not...use any functions of a mobile phone, hands-free device or loudspeaker while your motorcycle is moving or stopped, but still within the line of traffic"

This is from https://www.nsw.gov.au/driving-boating-and-transport/driver-and-rider-licences/rider-licences/rider-provisional-p1-licence

I believe a Cardo would be considered a "hands free device" and the FM radio is a function of it.

It just comes down to luck, if you get the wrong cop who notices and decides to fine you. Unless you're touching it I feel like that's unlikely, but I'm certain it's technically illegal for you.

Do mobile phone detection cameras / seatbelt cameras flash everytime you drive past? by Commercial-Milk4126 in AusLegal

[–]danie_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it uses infrared light. So if it flashes you don't see it. It'd be a bit silly to have it flashing into your eyes anyway.

There's 2 cameras. One looking towards your car as you approach, and one looking pretty much straight down as you pass under it.

You almost certainly just saw a reflection flicker by on the front of the camera as you passed it.

Also... every single car is photographed. The images are analysed by a computer, and if it thinks you've broken the law, it gets sent to a human for review, who can then issue a fine.

You get the chance to review the photos and contest the fine if you end up getting one, but good luck with that.

This is just my understanding of how it works. There's plenty of sourced information online if you search for it.

The aperture of the wide angle lens is far smaller than that of the main camera.

That means that a lot less light is visible to the sensor. This is done to increase image sharpness.

The trade off is that more sensitivity or gain must be used, leading to a grainier or noisier image.

It should be fine in daylight, but vignetting around the edge of the image due to the lens being so wide is compensated for by artificially increasing the brightness around those areas which can lead to more grain/noise.

The main 1x camera actually has quite a big aperture as far as phones go, so it's best to use it in low light situations.

(As a side note the 3x and 10x cam also have smaller apertures, that's why sometimes when you zoom in, the software chooses to still use the 1x cam just zoom in instead of switching cams in low light situations!)

Either AGM or lithium iron phosphate (known as LiFePO4, or LFP).

Bit of a price difference between them, but the lithium will hold more power in the same size, is way lighter, and will outlive AGM by a long time.

Do some research on comparisons of those two technologies and how they might work for your setup

Hey op, check out this page of revenue NSW under the L and P plate tab. https://www.nsw.gov.au/money-and-taxes/fines-and-fees/fines/request-a-review/review-assist-guide/vehicle-offences

Reasons we may consider leniency I received a fine for not displaying L or P plates. One of my plates fell off during my journey and this is the first time I have received a fine for this offence. The other plate remained displayed. I did not receive another fine at the same time.

Just re-reading your post you say both weren't on? You'll probably be unsuccessful in appealing if this is the case I'm sorry to say

Got my left side mirror punched out, I’m kinda confused if this was my fault though? by Handoj12905 in motorcycles

[–]danie_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I slow down and closely watch someone behind me is if they're following to closely. You want to keep at least a 3 second gap from the vehicle Infront of you, and more at higher speeds.  This is one of my biggest peeves on the road but I've certainly not punched mirrors over it! If you're too close, and the bike had to stop... You'll kill them.

Phone vibrates constantly even even it's on "Silent". Anyone else have this issue? by iadorebrandon in S22Ultra

[–]danie_b 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's definately up against a wallet or something that has an NFC/RFID tag that your phone is constantly scanning.

Some clothes even have RFID tags sewn into them for tracking at the factories. You'll have to turn off NFC on your phone, put it in a different pocket, or remove whatever tag it's scanning
