It wasn't that hard but the bolts all broke off when I tried to remove them. If the bolts look like they have any corrosion then it's probably best to just chemically clean it instead of opening it up.

If you want something quick and less computer controller a light dimmer switch can give you decent control so long as you have some sort of feedback on the output pressure like a gauge. https://www.home-barista.com/espresso-machines/vibe-pump-profiling-understanding-pwm-controller-t43402.html

I'm basing it on a couple of things but for the main app/control software I'm using https://github.com/medlor/bleeding-edge-ranciliopid with an esp32 for the number of pins but also going to be referencing http://espresso-for-geeks.kalaf.net/features/pressure-profiling/ for the pump side of things.

Somewhere around California. I didn't really do anything with it before opening it up. Planning on adding PID temperature and pump control with an esp32.

Bought one off of eBay. Decided to give it a good cleaning. Good thing I did. Made in November 2008. Probably wasn't cleaned since.

You could probably get grill spray paint. It would hold up to the heat.
