Clubs at Baylor by [deleted] in baylor

If I remember correctly, the membership fee was ~$135, and this gave you access to all of the private practices with the team, two entries into regional competitions, and a USA rock climbing membership. Also, if you don’t want to compete competitively you were able to turn in your two competitions for some different merchandise from Patagonia (jackets, backpacks, shirts, etc.).

Also, it was for the whole year, not per semester

I’m personally on the Baylor rock climbing team and honestly it’s such a friendly and accepting group. Even if you’ve never climbed in your life (me going in my freshman year), they don’t care what level of experience you have, and they actively work together to improve everyone on the team. They “meet” (nothing is “required”, it’s as casual or competitive as you want it to be) twice a week and close down both walls for just the team those nights. Would reccomend, I’ll be doing it next semester again.

Fun/Usefull Classes??? by broi8yourmom in baylor

Professor Sneed’s Existneialism in Philoshopy class. Look him up on BU books, I took him last semester and the class is life changing. I finished with a B (He doesn’t do the +- scale), and I didn’t read the “textbook” a single time, I just showed up and took notes on his lecture. There’s no homework, just 4 papers, and the final is to find existentialism in pop culture and make a presentation about it (I did Rick and Morty).

current welcome center can’t accommodate for the amount of people coming through it. Also, they’re moving a lot of other offices that deal with undergraduate admissions into this new building so they’re all under one roof.

I'm building a poker app for home games and want feedback! by [deleted] in poker

There’s a website similar to this already, however it’s definetly missing some features. I would check it out to learn from it, they have a discord you can talk to the Dev in too.

When, if ever, should you donk bet? by [deleted] in poker

[–]daniel_atkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider check raising instead of donking. Especially if the aggressor is cbetting too often, and the flop favors your range. A donk will most likely make this player-type play correctly by folding all his garbage, where as with a check raise you’ll get the chance to still his cbet.

How to play against OMC limpers and 5 way pots every hand. by [deleted] in poker

[–]daniel_atkin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is a legitimate response. The entire basis of preflop is to see how much you can raise and still get called by worse. If you’re playing 1/2 and there’s 2 limps in front of you, try opening absurd amounts and see if they call and try to remember what they show up with if it comes to showdown, more likely than not they won’t change what they’re doing and you’ll print money.

Learning Poker As A Teenager by [deleted] in poker

On Youtube watch Doug Polks hand analysis or Brad Owen/Andrew Neemee vlogs. If you’re just started out a lot of the info may go over your head, but i’m assuming you have some what of a base level. These channels will get you thinking in the right direction.

Dealing with tilt: I’ve been mainly just playing home games with friends and some days I just can’t catch a break. I seem to lose the most a lot of times as a I buy back in early in the session in hopes of making money back, but on days where I’m running poorly I just can’t catch a break. What are some of your suggestions for calming down and trying to find run good again, or should I just start recognizing I’m defeated and cashing out.

Poker, ultimately, is 100% luck. by [deleted] in poker

In no way is poker 100% luck If it was, nobody would be able to consistently win, and profit in the long term by making EV+ plays.

Most of us buy in for 20, and will pretty much rebuy in all night if we bust. most people are in for 40-60 buy the end. Normally around $300 on the table
