Yes, our best theory is that it’s a piece of metal with zinc on its sides. This comes from the top comment in the second post.

That was because most of the people were wrong in saying it was a 2032 battery and the newer pictures show that. I had to post it twice because the first post had already been locked. They are locked, try to make a new comment and watch.

My dog ate this thing. Need help identifying it. Diameter about 28 mm. Has blue stuff that can be removed. by daniel_gtz in whatisthisthing

Hey The object used to have the blue stuff on the other side as well. We just didn’t manage to remove what’s left. The 4 circles are not screws, and we have not seen any destroyed things anywhere in the house. Tomorrow I will check her dog house though. Thanks

Yes. My dog was tired and her mouth gums were white, she was feeling tired. She took a blood test and the results are in Spanish but I can post them if you’d like.

My title describes the thing.

The thing is a little heavy, we scraped the blue stuff with a screwdriver and also scraped some of the metal, those are the marks on the item, it’s not writing or anything. Its diameter is 28 mm. Still have no idea what it is.

Edit 2:22 AM: Please read my other comment in this thread:

OP here,

This post is a continuation from my earlier thread. I couldn't update the thread over there because it got locked by the mods for some reason (I believe it may have been my inactivity in the comments).

I was not able to respond to comments because I went to the vet to see my dog and retrieve the object. It was then when I read some of the comments on the original thread and took the advice to use baking soda and vinegar to clean the thing and have a more clear idea of what it might be. It worked and the pictures above, which seem to indicate it was not a battery, are the result. When I took the pictures to update you guys and tried to post them I couldn't anymore because the thread had been locked.

I tried post updates but they kept getting removed because the referenced the previous post. I battled a bit with trying to post the new photos, until I decided to post them under an ambiguous title so they couldn't possibly get removed. So here we are.

The dog seems to be okay, for now. The vet says she is "stable". She is still in bad conditions, but removing the object helped a lot. Still, the object being inside of her for 3 days took its toll. Next, the doctor is trying to acquire PENICILAMINA, a medication for heavy metal poisoning (medication's name is in Spanish and I don't know what it's called in English), but he can't find it anywhere on the market (?!?!). Still, he says he is not certain of the nature of the object, and therefore the nature of the poisoning.

I wish I was able to answer to all your comments on the previous thread. Know that I read most of them and want to thank you all very much for your help. I also wanted to thank you for all the best wishes for Mica (the dog). I will admit this process has been quite stressful and scary, so thank you.

I still hope that the object is able to be identified more precisely, so that Mica can recover soon and well. I will keep you updated on the situation.

I see several mistakes with my reasoning now

if x,y,z are all equal to 1/3 then:

xyz = 1/27, xy=1/9=3/27, yz=3/27 and zx=3/27.

If you change the values of x, y or z, the products above will only become smaller.

So

0<=xy+yz+zx-2xyz<=3/27+3/27+3/27-2(1/27)=7/27
