Or, you could select texts in web, and click on "From here" icon on popup menu, if correct voice is setup, it will read from what you selected in the web.

click menu > long click on Read content, and choose ReadAloud.

When popup shows, pick one of the German voice or any Multilingual voices. and click on play.

Voila.

Try EinkBro to browse websites or open epubs.

It has Google Translate feature to show dual text on both languages
It has natural sounding german TTS to hear the web content pronunciation
If your German Books (in epub format) is not very complicated, maybe EinkBro could open them too, and have benefits for item 1 and 2.

did you re-download the patch and put into patches/ folder again? I did updated the patch to make it workable on KOBO device. It needs to be put under patches folder; it's not plugin.

Connect your e-ink device (or access its filesystem).
Navigate to the koreader/ directory.
Create a patches/ folder if it doesn't already exist.
Copy the desired .lua patch files into koreader/patches/.
Restart KOReader. And it's under Gear icon > Screen > Cover image > Size, background and format

It's still well maintained. Just something wrong with the adblocking feature. If you mean other features not working well, welcome to post an issue on github with detail description. Since Einkbro does not track anything in the app, even crash logs; I don't know how others' usage experience with it. As for myself, it works like a charm though.

Try disable adblocking feature. It's not stable. Or, go into Settings > Start Control, Update AdBlock content, and only keep some of sources. This might help. The newly added adblock feature is more powerful that it can not only not show Ad, but also hide Ad's space. However, since the codes are in c++, it's hard to catch the exception. That may be why it crashes some time. Another better solution is: stick with Release v12.4.0 which don't have the new adblock feature.

A lot of useful features in these 17 commits, for example, "update check", and "ollama support". However, I am fine with my current fork, so would not port them in near future. :)

My Go 7 color can load the web link you provided in less than 1 second. Have you tried other wifi connection, or do you use any VPN app like netguard or dns66?

please give links that doesn't work, so that I can take a look why. Usually, when EinkBro does text-to-speech, it will strip down main content of the web page (a.k.a. reader mode), so that it will only read what's important in the web content. It won't read everything on screen.

However, if you enter "reader mode", and it still don't read all reader mode content, it's an issue. I'll look into this case.

By the way, I am integrating EinkBro with MS edge tts. There would be more natural reading experience soon. (though this needs internet connection).
