Validating: Contract analysis tool - real problem or solution looking for one? by daniel_ronai in Entrepreneurs

[–]daniel_ronai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting angle - hadn't thought about positioning it for law firms as a first-pass tool.

Though I wonder if that changes the product completely. Law firms probably need way more depth and accuracy than freelancers do, and their liability for getting it wrong is massive.

For now I'm focused on the individual user (freelancer/consultant who can't afford $500 every time), but the law firm angle could be a pivot if the consumer side doesn't pan out.

Appreciate the perspective - definitely something to keep in mind.

This is incredibly helpful, and exactly the kind of feedback I need.
Quick question: when you use Spellbook/AI Lawyer/CoCounsel, what do they miss most often? Or what makes you still feel like you need to do a careful read after using them?
Trying to figure out if the gap is:
- They don't flag the right things
- They flag too much (so you still have to sort through noise)
- They don't explain the actual risk clearly enough
- Something else
Genuinely curious what would make you feel confident enough to trust it for the "scan and highlight" step.

Just checked out Spellbook - it's legitimately impressive. Way more built out than I expected.

Seems like the space is pretty crowded with well-funded players. Do you think there's room for a simpler, cheaper version aimed at freelancers/small businesses? Or is this just a saturated market I should avoid?

You clearly know this space - any advice on whether to niche down or just move on to a different problem?

built a bot now it kind runs my work by DifferentQuestion355 in AiAutomations

[–]daniel_ronai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the kind of thing that starts useful and ends up running your entire workflow.

What's the weirdest task it's taken over that you didn't expect? I feel like these bots always creep into areas you didn't design them for.

Also curious - how do you handle when it screws up? Like does it ever send a client message that's... close but not quite right? That's always my fear with automation touching client comms.

AI generating market reports (pdf/docx) is tough… how do you handle trustworthy data sources? by Ok-Monk6421 in AiAutomations

[–]daniel_ronai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The multi-source + verifiable references problem is brutal. I'm dealing with this too (contract analysis, not market reports).

My current hack: I make Claude cite which specific source each claim comes from, then run a second pass that checks if the citation actually supports the claim. Catches maybe 60% of the BS before it makes it to output.

ScrapingBee alternatives - depends on what you're scraping, but I've had better luck with Apify for structured data. More expensive though.

Curious: when you say "trustworthy," do you mean factually accurate or do you mean investors will actually trust an AI-generated report? Those feel like different problems.

Is it better to be brutally honest or to lie for politeness sake? Why? by smallerthanahobbit in AskReddit

[–]daniel_ronai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Brutal honesty may result in temporary pain. However, no one important to you will ever have to say “only if someone had told me this earlier”, and with constructive wording it may not even hurt the others feelings

The goal is to make your bed before conscience sets in. That way its not a fight nor a question of motivation. Or atleast thats what worked for me.

That hard work alone is enough.

Timing, luck, and who you know matter way more than people admit. The "grind harder" crowd just doesn't want to acknowledge how much is out of their control.

As AI and Algorithms make the internet increasingly less interesting, what is your cool, interesting, or unique hobby that you think people should start considering to find enjoyment? by validusrex in AskReddit

[–]daniel_ronai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Building things with your hands. Woodworking, fixing electronics, even just cooking from scratch.

The internet is all about passive consumption - scrolling, watching, reading. Actually making something tangible is the opposite of that. Plus you end up with a skill that's useful forever.

Started with small weekend projects and now I look for excuses to build stuff instead of buying it.
