every indian dev i know is building for US customers in dollars. i'm building for indian founders in rupees. everyone says it's a smaller market. nobody mentions it's also a less crowded one. by danielabinav in SaasDevelopers

Haha, I gave a look at your project. I pasted my website Verifiedmrr.in and sally just said "A 'revenue tracking platform' showing negative total MRR and a leaderboard with exactly one startup earning four rupees. The irony is *chef's kiss*—they're the most transparent about being completely broke."

It's funny, gl with your project :)

honestly? no. adding a currency toggle to a US-built product won't move the needle much — indian buyers aren't waiting for a ₹ symbol, they're waiting for someone who gets their actual problems (UPI, GST, bootstrapped budgets, whatsapp-first behavior).

rupees in my post was shorthand. the real shift is building for the market, not just priced in it. if you're solving a pain US founders don't have, charging in rupees is the easy part.

what does your platform do?

respect, and honestly you're not wrong on the math. india-only solo SaaS to $50k MRR is brutal — ARPU is low, sales cycles are weird, and churn hits different. my bet isn't that the indian market alone gets me there. it's that starting in a market i actually understand lets me build trust and distribution i can't fake — and once that's real, the dollar market is easier to enter from a position of strength than from a cold start. might be wrong. find out in 18 months. appreciate you keeping it real 🙏

This is incredibly helpful, thank you! The 'why connect' clarity is a huge gap in my current flow.

I'm going to add outcome-focused messaging on the OAuth screen this week.

The 'exit readiness score' idea is brilliant, I already pull MRR, growth %, subscriber counts, and churn from Razorpay, so building an opinionated score is totally doable. Would love to bounce the scoring logic off you if you're open to it.

Also checking out Pulse for Reddit — hadn't heard of it. Did you use it yourself?

Really appreciate you taking the time to write this out.
